...and DSP used for our Crafty Creations class last Friday. This is a great time to use some of my retired products, especially DSP that I tend to hoard each year, even though I say to myself that "it is not going to happen this year" - Yea, right!!!!!
Being as though it was the last Friday of the month, it was time for our Recipe Swap, which most of the ladies love to create.
Supplies -
Stamp Set - Scribble This (Retired)
Ink - Staz-On, Pumpkin Pie
Cardstock - Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
DSP - Sweet & Sour Speciality (Retired)
Punches - Pinking Hearts Border (Retired)
Ribbon - 1/4" Grosgrain - Basic Black
Accessories - Stampin' Up! Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive, Stampin' Up! Marker - Pumpkin Pie, Aqua Painter, Mini Glue Dots
Non-SU! - Black Button
After printing the recipe & cutting down to the size I wanted, I adhered it to a piece of Basic Black Cardstock with Snail Adhesive. I punched a piece of DSP along the 2 long sides with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch & adhered it to the large piece of DSP. I wanted to bring a little bit more of a contrast into the scheme of things & to introduce more of a constrasting colour.
The recipe was adhered to the DSP prior to adhering to the Basic Black Cardstock. With my Pumpkin Pie Marker, I drew squiggley lines around the edge of the recipe.
I stamped 1 large flower images with Black Staz-On Ink, 1 onto scrap Whisper White Cardstock, while the 2nd one was direct onto DSP. I cut both out, folded the petals of the DSP backwards & adhered at the back. The one which had been stamped onto the Whisper White, I coloured this using my Aqua Painter & Pumpkin Pie Ink prior to adhering to the layout. The DSP flower was adhered to the top of the coloured flower with a Mini Glue Dot & a Black Button adhered to the top.
I adhered a piece of Basic Black Grosgrain Ribbon across the bottom of the recipe, tied a bow & tucked the ends under.
For the smaller flower, I again stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock with Black Staz-On Ink, cut out, coloured with Aqua Painter & Pumpkin Pie Ink, stamped again onto DSP, cut the middle & adhered to the centre of the flower prior to adhering over the top of the Basic Black Ribbon.
I'm really happy with the way this page come together, but it could be because of the colours. Black & Orange are so striking together, add a little pink & you have a perfect combination.
I will be posting the matching card the ladies who don't do the recipe created in a couple of days.
Happy Stampin'
