Today's card is for the Colour Challenge over at UDI The colours shout "Spring!" I know we are in the middle of summer, but hey the colours are beautiful, so of course I had to give it a go. I will say, it did take me some time to figure out how I was going to create my card, only knowing that I wanted to use Shimmer Paint.
Cut base card using Concord Crush Cardstock
2nd Layer - Very Vanilla Cardstock & run through Bigshot using Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder
3rd layer - Always Artichoke - 4" x 3" or 10cm x 7.5cm
4th Layer - Perfect Plum - 3 7/8" x 2 7/8" or 9.5cm x 7cm
5th Layer - Very Vanilla - 3 3/4" x 2 3/4" or 9cm x 6.5cm
Using Shimmer Paint - Frost White, randomly rub over Very Vanilla Cardstock & let dry
With Always Artichoke, Concord Crush & Perfect Plum Inks, stamp images directly over the Shimmer Paint. With a couple of images & to give a little more definition, stamp off onto scrap paper & then onto the cardstock
Stamp sentiment onto Very Vanilla using Concord Crush Ink
Run Cardstock through Bigshot using Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder
Adhere layers 2, 3,4 & 5 together
Adhere Taffeta Ribbon down LHS of Very Vanilla Cardstock
Make a small bow tie & attach a Rhinestone Brad to the centre prior to attaching to middle of ribbon
Attach layer to base card
Supplies -
Stamp Set - Pocket Silhouettes
Inks - Always Artichoke, Perfect Plum, Concord Crush
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Perfect Plum, Always Artichoke, Concord Crush
Embossing Folder - Perfect Polka Dots
Ribbon - 3/8" Taffeta - Very Vanilla
Accessories - Snail Adhesive, Multipurpose Liquid Glue,
Shimmer Paint - Frost White, Rhinestone Brad - Lilac
Tip - When using Embossing Folders, I use Multipurpose Liquid Glue - you will find that it will adhere a lot more to your cardstock
Until next time, Enjoy!
