Sending Sympathy....

I needed a Sympathy Card to post out this week, so I dug up one of the rare cards that I saved.  I've cased (copied & shared everything) from Sarah Willis  I'm not even sure where I come across it or when I come across it.  It is quiet an old card as it uses a stamp set from last year's SAB.

Thanks so much Sarah for the inspiration!

The Framed Tulips EF is not one that I have used a lot, so thought it gave me the perfect opportunity to dig it out of the box & dust it down.  I quite like the result of the EF but believe me it was hard not to use my favourite Perfect Polka Dots.  In saying that, if you look closely, I managed to get it on here anyhow.

SC 079/13....

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the mums out there a very "Happy Mother's Day"!  I hope you have all been spoilt with lots of chocolates, flowers & brekkie in bed.

This week's challenge at Sunny Challenges & Creations has been given to us by Kris.  As well as the sketch, we have to create a card, 3-D project or scrapbook page for kids!

How easy can it be?  Well, not so easy I found out!

Inside Card....
Why is it that are there easiest are sometimes the hardiest.  Maybe I was thinking too much into it, who knows.  I think I got there in the end though, as I am fairly happy with the final result.
The card also fits the challenge over at  Latenight Stampers - saying goodbye to our Retiring Colours.  For both challenges I've used "Pretty in Pink".  This is one colour I will be sad to see "retire", but will gladly welcome the new colours.

What little girl doesn't love "Pink"!  I even managed to sneak some bling onto it too.  Along with the Pink Icing, I think it is the perfect card for a little girl!

Made for You....

... is the card we will be creating this arvo in our Crafty Creations Class.

This is not my idea as I've "case'd" it from the web a long time ago.  In fact, I didn't actually save it but stored it in my mind so that I could use it in one of our Friday's class.  Please let me know if you recognise it as I would love to give you credit.
Close up of Scallop Edgelit...
I am not normally one for saving cards, but file them in my mind for future use.  I find that if I do save them I never seem to re-create them & they just sit & sit......

If I can remember correctly, I don't think it was all Stampin' Up!, so I have adapted some of it to Stampin' Up!  Don't you love it when that can occur.  I did play around with trying to get all the measurements correct & even managed to use the Scallop Edgelits from the Finishing Touches Edgelits to work the way I wanted AND it only took 1 go - haha.

It's a very simple little card, but one with a big impact!

Mother's Day...

With Mother's Day just around the corner, in fact this Sunday, I thought I would share with you a couple of cards I did for the Handmade Expo I attend every month.  These are held on the first Sunday of each month, excluding Public Holidays.

The cards proved to be very popular & in fact
sold all but 3 of them within 20 minutes which stunned & amazed me.  Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!!  I hope your mum's enjoy receiving them as much as I enjoyed creating them.

I did create them using the Polka Dots Parade Designer Series Paper & did a couple in each colour which I don't normally do. I only have photos of the Rich Razzleberry & Daffodil Delight to show you, but you will get the idea.  This paper would have to be my favourite in the current catalogue & have created heaps of "stuff" using this DSP.  Combine it with the Stippled Blossoms Stamp Set & you have a winner!

Today's card is using the Rich Razzleberry DSP combined with Daffodil Delight Cardstock.

SC 078/13...

Our challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations has been set by Gwen.  She has been very kind to us this week as there is no sketch, but we are requested to create a Card, 3-D Project or even a Scrapbook Page with a "Sympathy Theme".

I actually completed my card for a couple of challenges ago, but when I went to post it, realised that I had the wrong challenge.  I have since used the card, so it is no longer in my possession.

I love the little rose which is in Stamp Set "Papaya Collage".  It seems to suit any occasion & I have used it a lot of late.  In fact this is one of the cards we created in our Stamping Classes this month.

I love the clean simple look of the card.

ANZAC Day...

“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.”

Lest We Forget.

Today is the day we celebrate ANZAC Day!
April 25 is a day of national remembrance to those brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our country.  On this day in 1914 the ANZAC’s – Australian & New Zealand forces – stormed onto the shores of Gallipoli in order to open the Dardanelles to the allied navies.  To read more about the history of the ANZAC’s, please google “ANZAC”, you will be in for a great read & will bring tears to your eyes….
For myself, as well as many Australians, it is a day throughout Australia which begins with the Dawn Service, followed by the many marches throughout the country & then finally lunch, drinks & “Two-Up” at the local RSL’s – Return Services League.
More importantly, it is a day I get to mingle with the heroes of our country, sit & listen to their war & personal stories & of the mates they have lost & left behind – some very funny that they bring tear to your eyes, some very sad they bring tears to your eyes!  I was one of the lucky ones that never saw war while serving, but the same cannot be said for a lot of the service men & women of today.

"We will remember them!"

SC 077/13...

I am a little late with posting my card for the current challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations, but I suppose it is better late than never.

Our challenge this week has been set by myself & with Mother's Day coming up, I decided that it would be the perfect opportunity to create a card with Mother's Day in mind.  You also have the option of creating a card for a female, if you prefer.

My card was created using Whisper White & Regal Rose - perfect colour for mums & females.  I usually go for something non-traditional in colour but decided to go with all white with just a small touch of a contrasting colour.

Yep, I've even used my favourite Embossing Folder - Perfect Polka Dots for part of my card, while the bottom section, I decided to randomly score a few lines with my Simply Scoring Tool.

While creating the card, I sort of decided to punch a section from the embossed card & then have the sentiment & a couple of images sneaking out from behind.  I really like the final result.

The Open Sea.....

... was the Stamp Set we used in one of our Technique Classes a few weeks ago.  I am so far behind in my posts that I think I will have something every couple of days for the next 2 weeks, so be sure to pop back to check them out.

With this class we concentrated on doing the Wax Paper or Faux Parchment Technique.  This turned out to be the perfect technique for creating male cards.  We got to use lots of different techniques with this card, including - Crimper, Sponging, Big Shot plus a different type of fold, which is what this card turned out to be - Twisted Easel.  They are such fun to create.

Until next time, Happy Stampin'

Stippled Blossom...

Inside Card...
... has been on my Wish List since I first laid eyes on it & finally managed to order it the other day.  Believe me, if you haven't purchased this gorgeous set, do yourself a favour & buy it.  You will not regret it.  This stamp set is 2-step stamping & stamps such a beautiful, clean, clear image
that you will want to stare at it & wonder why it took you so long to get it.

My card is another we did for Crafty Creations & has been sitting in a box half finished for about 6 months.  I knew what I wanted to create in my head but just couldn't get it on paper.  I wanted to use the Labels Collections Framelits to create my frame but when I went to get them, I suddenly realised I didn't have them & had never purchased them.  Do you ever think you have purchased something only to find that you didn't?  Mind you, I didn't believe it until I had such a mess & everything had been pulled down from the shelves that I came to the realisation that how could I not have them?

I'm really happy with this card & think I will be creating more like it in the future.  It leaves itself open to all sorts of possibilities.

Of course, the tutorial for you to print or file by clicking on the link below -

Until next time, Happy Stampin'
