My card for the sketch challenge over at Stamping 411 was especially created for a lovely friend who has been in hospital. I didn't want to post this until Saturday when I knew for sure that she would have received the card, but the challenge closes in 1 1/2 days. I created a card which hopefully would be bright, cherry & fun! I hope I have succeeded.
Again, I've used 2 stamp sets which will be retiring at the end of the month. You will probably see me use a lot more for the rest of the month, as I want to make the most of them before "R Day" - Retirement Day.
Creating challenges from Stamping 411 means one thing - MEASUREMENTS
To help get you started, here are some possible measurements you could use:
1.Layer One -- 5.5 x 8.5", scored and folded to make your Card Base
2.Layer Two -- 4 x 5.25"
3.Layer Three -- 3 x 3.75" -- punch one end with a Border Punch
4.Layer Four -- 2.75 x 3.25"
5.Layer Five -- 1.75 x 4"
6.Layer Six -- 1.5 x 3.75"
Using my SU Markers, I inked my image with Rich Razzleberry & Old Olive. I wanted to bring a touch of a second colour into the card, so I opted for a stamp which I could work that with. I stamped the image direct onto the piece of Whisper White Cardstock & adhered to a slightly larger piece of Cardstock - Rich Razzleberry.
I stamped my image direct onto Whisper White Cardstock using Rich Razzleberry Ink, stamping off at times. This piece was run through the Bigshot using Embossing Folder - Perfect Polka Dots. I love, love, love this folder & can't get enough of it. My piece of Rich Razzleberry was punched along the bottom with the Eyelet Border Punch. The Embossed Whisper White was adhered to this piece.
My biggest piece of Whisper White Cardstock was scored every 1/2" down the card. I adhered all layers to this piece as per the sketch & wrapped a piece of Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain Ribbon around the lot. I elected to stamp a butterfly image onto a piece of scrap Whisper White Cardstock using Rich Razzleberry Ink, cut the image out, dusted some Dazzling Diamonds onto the butterfly using my 2-Way Glue Pen & applied 3 Basic Rhinestones down the middle. This was then adhered to the ribbon using SU Dimensionals instead of a bow or knot.
The whole piece was adhered to the base card, Rich Razzleberry, with SU Dimensionals.
