Bloomin' with Kindness.....

... is the Stamp Set I used today for the Sympathy Card I had to create.  I do know this is one type of card we never like to create.  In saying that, I usually have a small stack in amongst my cards, but of course as with any card, when I need one, I don't go for the stack I have, I usually try & create one to suit the person it is intended or for their family.

One of the ladies from our Friday's class lost her mum last week, so I took the card & got everyone to sign it for her.  I can now show the card as she will have received it by now.  I created it in Patty's favourite colours & as it turned out a "Monochromic" Card - that is, using 2 or more tones of the one colour. 

I decided to keep it fairly plain as I didn't want to go overboard with it & I finally got to use the Delicate Designs Embosslits with the matching Large Scallop Edgelits.  Don't you just love that with Stampin' Up! - the way everything matches & co-ordinates..........

With Sympathy.....

Today's card is one I created for a challenge, but the challenge closed before I could post it as I completely forgot all about it. 

I then decided to use it for my Friday Crafty Creations Class a couple of weeks ago.  This year we are trying to create some of our cards with different folds while at the same time, still trying to do cards that are not expensive to create at home.

 A couple of the ladies did have a little trouble getting their head around the concept of the Window Sheet being in the middle & why we were cutting out card at the front, but after a LOT of explaining, showing & playing, we eventually got to complete it. 

The sentiment is a non-Stampin' Up! stamp.  It is easily able to be substitued for a SU! stamp.

I love the monochromic colours in a card.  They are a little different & sometimes a little harder to tie them in together than adding other colours.

Clockworks....

... has been used for my card today.

 

This is a great stamp set for the males in your life.....  In fcat, it is great for the females too.  Just change the colours.

In fact, the card has been created for 2 challenges, which sort of surprised me as I didn't realise it met the criteria for one of the challenges.

The first challenge is for Stampin' Fun & Friends which is all about "Sweet Sentiments".  Click on the picture on the top right hand side & it will take you to the site where you can sign up.  There is still time to join.  There have been some lovely projects just in time for Valentine's.

"Feeling Blue" was the 2nd challenge which is part of my online group Late Night Stampers where we had to create something with Blue has the main colour.  Why not pop over, see what the Design Team have created & of course the rest of the entries.  Better still, why not join us in our challenge.

Again, I decided to use one of my favourite Embossing Folders - Square Lattice. You know the old saying about "Blue & Green should never been seen", but who takes any notice of this..... I love how Midnight Muse & Lucky Limeade work so well together, but you be the judge for yourself.

SC 072/13...

"LOVE IS IN THE AIR"

 

Our challenge over at Sunny Challenges for the next fortnight is to create a card, 3-D project or scrapbook page with the theme of "Love".  With Valentine's Day fast approaching, this is the perfect time to create that something special for that someone special.  Again, we have no sketch to go by, so the field is wide open.

I have a wedding in the next couple of weeks & thought this the perfect opportunity to create a special card for the special couple.  Yep, it is in their colours & theme too!  I love Pink Pirouette & Not Quite Navy together.

I've used the sketch from Technostamper Monday Lunch Challenge to create my card except I turned it on its side.  It has been sometime since I played along with one of Mary Jo's challenges.

My card is a little different in that there is no sign of any hearts or lovey sentiment of any kind. I think that is why it appeals to me that much.  Sometimes it is good to try & create something that is non-traditional.

I also used a sentiment from a great little stamp set in the current "Sale-a-Bration" catalogue, which I thought went really well with my card.  It is a little different than the usual "Congratulations" or "Best Wishes", etc.

Congratulations.....

... on finding each other.

This is the lovely sentiment from Stampin' Up!'s "A Word for you".  It is also the sentiment I stamped onto this great little card.

Today's share is the card we created in Crafty's Creations Class this arvo.  Of course, everyone's was very different, but that the great thing about all having the same kit & each creating their card by adding their personal touch.

I would never usually combine Basic Black & Regal Rose together but I wanted a bit of a dramatic effect & think it has worked.  Of course, the strip of Pearls along the top & the touch of Certainly Celery adds dimenion & colour to the card.

It was my turn to set the challenge this week over at Sunny Challenges & Creations.  This is a very easy sketch as well as the 2nd part of the challenge being non-traditional christmas.  Now this can mean non-traditional colours, stamps or both.  It is entirely up to you......  We hope you will have heaps of fun with this challenge, better still join us this week.

I run the larger piece of Whisper White Cardstock through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder & the smaller piece of Whisper White using the Stripes Embossing Folder.  Both pieces were adhered to the Base Card - Basic Gray with Tombow Multi-Purpose Glue.

I stamped the long piece of Whisper White Cardstock using Versamark & then Basic Gray, before embossing with Clear Embossing Powder.  The embossed piece was adhered to the piece of Pretty in Pink with Snail Adhesive.

Thinking I didn't have a "Merry Christmas" Stamp, I printed the greeting onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, punched with the Word Label Punch & adhered to the bottom part of the embossed piece prior to adhering to the Base Card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Our challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations has been given to us by Gwen.  Along with the sketch, we had to use the colour of Perfect Plum.  I must admit I haven't used this colour for quiet some time, but alway love the end result when I do.

I run my large piece of Whisper White Cardstock through the Big Shot using Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  I adhered this to the Base Card - Perfect Plum with Snail Adhesive.

I inked my image in Pink Pirouette Ink, stamped off once & then onto the piece of Whisper White Cardstock.  I repeated this twice before stamping my main image over the top with Perfect Plum Ink.  This piece was adhered to a piece of Pink Pirouette prior to adhering to the Base Card with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.

The middle section was stamped onto Whisper White Cardstock with Pink Pirouette Ink.  I stamped off once prior to stamping one image, while the other was direct to paper.  I then inked the crown with Perfect Plum, stamped direct to paper while the 3rd image I used Rose Red.  This piece was adhered to a layer of Rose Red Cardstock & finally to the Base Card.  Part of the section was adhered  with Snail Adhesive while the other part was adhered with a couple of Stampin' Dimensionals.

The greeting was stamped twice onto a scap of Whisper White Cardstock, once in Perfect Plum Ink, punched out with the Scallop Circle Punch & the 2nd image in Rose Red & the middle punched with the 1" Circle Punch.  The Rose Red image was then adhered to the middle of the Perfect Plum image with a Stampin' Dimensional prior to adhering to the card.  Again, I used Snail Adhesive for the top part, while the bottom part is supported by a Stampin' Dimensional.

Can you believe t?  We actually had rain last night & boy it cool this morning, but hey who cares - Rain, we have Rain!!!!!!  A great day for stampin & catching up on all those little projects that we tend to lend for "Ron" - later on!  Rain!!!!  did, I mention we have Rain!!!!!!!!!

Our challenge this week over at Sunny Challenges & Creations is to create a "Sympathy" card along with the great sketch layout!  This is a type of card that we don't like creating, but is always good to have in your stash.

Accessories - Snail Adhesive, Pearls, Stampin' Up! Markers - Rose Red & Wild Wasabi, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Bone Folder, Big Shot

I wanted to use a colour I haven't touched in a lot time, so it was basically a toss up between the new "In Colours" or Bashful Blue, which won in the end.

I inked my main image with Stampin' Markers of Wild Wasabi & Rose Red & stamped directly onto the larger piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I did this twice, with the 2nd time stamping a little lower onto the Cardstock, the second time around.

Inside....

The smaller piece of Whisper White was run through the Big Shot with the Embossing Folder - Perfect Polka Dots, punched along one of the edges with the Oval Punch & adhered to the bottom of the larger piece of Whisper White Cardstock with Snail Adhesive.
I adhered a piece of Ribbon towards the bottom of the embossed piece.  The whole piece was then adhered to theBase Card - Bashful Blue - with Snail Adhesive.  I stamped my sentiment with Rose Red & Wild Wasabi Markers, punched out the Oval Punch & adhered to the top of the Ribbon.  I tied a small bow & adhered to the bottom part of the punched oval with a Mini Glue Dot.

A scap piece of Whisper White Cardstock was run through the Big Shot with the Beautufil Wings Embosslits Folder, wings curled a little with my Bone Folder & attached ramdomly to the card with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.

To finish the card, I applied small Pearls to the flowers & also to the centre of the butterflies.

All in all a very simple & easy card, but one I am happy with.

It was my turn to bring the challenge this week over at Sunny Challenges.  We all seem to be able to create a female's card much easier than a male, so this week, I thought why not just let our imaginations go wild.  Along with the sketch, we have to create a project for the girls......

I adhered the ppieces of DSP to the piece of Whisper White Cardstock with Snail Adhesive prior to adhering the piece of Crochet Trim across the middle to hide the joins & then to the Base Card - Always Artichoke.

The piece of Always Artichoke Cardstock was run through the Big Shot using the Embossing Folder Lacy Brocade prior to adhering to the top of the Crochet Trim with a couple of Mini Glue Dots.

I punched a scrap piece of Whisper White Cardstock with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch, stamped 2 random leaf images in Always Artichoke & 2 large flowers & 1 small flower onto another scrap of Whisper White Cardstock with Pretty In Pink Ink.  I cut around the flower images prior to adhering to the punched circle with Stampin' Dimensionals.

For my scallop border, I punched 2 scallop circles with my 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, cut the punched pieces into sections & adhered to the back of the stamped Whisper White Circle.

The whole piece was then adhered to the card with Mini Glue Dots.

I left the Sentiment/Greeting off my card.

What started out with different size punches in my hand has turned into a Thank You Card for the lady who did the Puppy School which my new addition - 4 legged type - attended.  Belle began Puppy Scool wanting to be "Boss Lady", but was soon put in her place by another little "Boss Lady"  This is her card from Belle.

Base Card - Early Expresso - 5 7/8" x 4 1/8" or 15cm x 10.5cm - Score & Fold in half

Layer 1 - Blushing Bride - 5 3/4" x 4" or 14.5cm x 10cm

Layer 2 - Whisper White - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8" or 14cm x 9.5cm

I punched different size circles using my punches & Early Expresso Cardstock & Blushing Bride Cardstock & randomly adhered the circles to Whisper White Cardstock.  I run the Whisper White through the Bigshot using an Embossing Folder.

This piece was adhered to Blushing Bride before being attached to the Base Card - Early Expresso.  I stamped "Thank You" onto a piece of Whisper White, punched out & inked the edges in Early Expresso Ink &adhered to the card. 

I run 2 pieces of Blushing Bride Cardstock through the Bigshot using Embosslit Dies.  The Butterflies were then attached to the top of the card, including over the edge of the sentiment.  I added Basic Rhinstones to the middle of the Butterflies.

All in all, a very simple little card but I am quite taken with the end result!

While all my craft stuff is out & about - usually spread over 2 rooms - thought I would give the challenge over at Stamping 411 a go.  I haven't done one of these for quiet some time.  Mind you, I am still tossing up about this card.  I think it may be the colours, as I find it very hard to get my head around these colours.  In saying that, I think it would make for a great girl's card!

Once again Stamping 411 have done all the measurements required for this card.  Don't you just love that?

Layer 1: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4" and folded in half - Rose Red

Layer 2: 4 x 5-1/4" - Very Vanilla & DSP

Layer 3: 3 x 3" square, tilted a bit - Pumpkin Pie & Very Vanilla
Layer 4: 3 x 3" (or other shape) - Rose Red & Very Vanilla

Don't forget your ribbon/bow combo!

I randomly stamped flower images using Rose Red Ink & Pumpkin Pie for the Butterfly images onto Very Vanilla.  I run the Very Vanilla through the Bigshot using an Embossing Folder.  The DSP was then adhered to the bottom of the card.  I adhered Taffera Ribbom along where the 2 textures meet.

Using Pumpkin Pie Ink, I randomly stamped the flower images & the verse using Rose Red onto the Very Vanilla square & ahered it to the Pumpkin Pie square.  I then stamped a small butterfly onto a spare piece of Very Vanilla using Rose Red, cut it out & set it aside.  I repeated the same with larger butterfly image, except I punched an image using my Punch. 

Using Pumpkin Pie Ink, I stamped the words onto the 2nd piece of Very Vanilla, Butterflies & flowers images were stamped using Rose Red Ink.  I then adhered the spare butterfly images over the top of the images on the Very Vanilla Cardstock & attached over the top of the 1st square.  The whole lot was then adhered to the Base Card - Rose Red.

To pick the look up & to give it a little bit of depth, I added Rhinestones to the centre of the flowers - gotta love these Rhinestones....  I tied a bow & adhered to card.

I've been trying to do a couple of different folds for cards.  This is a normal fold, but with the top showing a little of the inside.

Front -

Card Base - Rose Red Cardstock - 5 7/8" x 4 1/8" or 15cm x 10.5cm. Score & Fold in half

Layer 1 - Daffodil Delight Cardstock - 5 1/8" x 4" or 13cm x 10cm.  Front only - Measure & cut 1/2" or 2cm from top of card - as per photo

Layer 2 - DSP - 5" x 3 7/8' or 12.5cm x 9.5cm

Layer 3 - Tempting Turquoise Cardstock - 2" x 4" or 5.5cm x 10cm

Layer 4 - Daffodil Delight Cardstock - 2 1/2" x 2" or 6.5cm x 5cm

Layer 5 - Whisper White Cardstock - 2 3/8" x 1 7/8" or 6cm x 4.5cm

I punched the edge of Tempting Turquoise using the Edge Punch & adhered this piece to the DSP before adhering to Daffodil Delight Cardstock.  I tied a piece of Satin Ribbon along the top edge of Tempting Turquoise & tied a bow on the RHS.  I then adhered the whole lot to the front of the Base Card.

I stamped my sentiment directly onto Whisper White Cardstock using Basic Black Ink & adhered to the Daffodil Delight Cardstock, prior to adhering to the front of the card.

I adhered a button to small flower & adhered to bottom of card.  I then adhered small flower to a larger flower & placed over the punched leaves.  I then stuck a bigger button to the centre. 

Inside -

I run a piece of Daffodil Yellow Cardstock through the Bigshot using an Embossing Folder.  This was adhered to the inside of the base card.  I cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock & adhered this piece to the Daffodil Yellow.  I cut & punched the edge of a piece of DSP & adhered to the bottom of Whisper White Cardstock.

To finish off, I added 3 Basic Pearls top RHS of card.
