SC 094/13...

Our new challenge is up & running over at Sunny Challenges & Creations

All you have to do is share something that you have created for the Christmas Season.  Maybe you have created your own decorations, table settings, boxes, banner, scrapbook page, etc.

For my first sample, I decided to do a couple of scrapbook pages ready in time for Christmas Day. I am really happy with how they turned out.  Today is Page 1 of the pages which will fit a 5" x 7" photo with a small white border.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Morning Post Numbers
Ink - Crumb Cake
Cardstock - Whisper White, Textured Old Olive
DSP - Season of Style
Ribbon - 1" Stitched Edge Grosgrain - Cherry Cobbler
Washi Tape - Season of Style
Accessories - Snail Adhesive, Paper Piercing Mat & Tool

I cut 2 strips of DSP into 2" wide x 11" while the 3rd strip was 2" x 12" & adhered them to the RHS of the Old Olive Textured CS.  I just love Textured CS for scrapbooking!

A 5 1/4" x 7 1/4" piece of Whisper White CS was adhered over the strips of DSP.  I stamped "2013" onto a piece of Whisper White CS 1 1/2" x 5 1/2" using Crumb Cake Ink.  Prior to adhering to the page, a "V" was cut from one end.

With my Paper Piercing Mat & Tool I pierced a double layer around the Whisper White Mat.  A bow was tied from the Cherry Cobbler Ribbon & the adhered to the RHS of the year.

I then adhered a couple of strips of Washi Tape to the top LHS of the page.  I also placed a piece of Whisper White, cut into a banner for a little bit of journaling.

All in all a very simple page, but one that represents Christmas!

We know everyone is busy at this time of the year, so we have extended this challenge out to the new year, which means you have lots of extra time to play along.  We would love for you to link your creation or creations with us.  All you have to do is post it on line & then link back to Mr Linky.

Until next time, Happy Stampin'!

SC 092/13...

Crikey these weeks come round fast.  It just seems like yesterday that we had our last challenge, but looking at my last post, I haven't posted much in the last couple of weeks.  Hopefully, that will be fixed this week.

It was my turn to do the challenge over at Sunny Challenges & thought it would be great if we had a Colour Theme.  "Pool Party"  seems to be the in-colour for Christmas this year, so this should be an easy colour for everyone to join in the fun.

Unfortunately, I don't have any measurements for my card this week.  I sold it last Sunday at the Handmade Expo.  I had completely forgotten that I had created it for this challenge & only took a photo at the last moment, else I would have had to create another card.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Ornament Keepsakes, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink - Island Indigo, Pool Party
Cardstock - Whisper White, Island Indigo, Pool Party, Smokey Slate
Embossing Folders - Pretty Print, Stylish Stripes
Framelits - Ornament Keepsakes
Punches - 2 1/2" Circle, Word Window, Modern Label
Ribbon - 1/8" Silver
Accessories - Rhinestone Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive

I run the piece of Island Indigo CS through the BS using Stylish Stripes EF.  This is fast becoming one of my favourite folders.  The piece of Pool Party CS was again put through the BS, this time using Pretty Print EF.  I then ran a piece of the Silver Ribbon across the middle of the joins & tied a bow.  I adhered both these embossed pieces to a piece of Whisper White CS prior to adhering to Base Card - Smokey Slate.

I stamped 3 different size snowflake images onto Whisper White CS - 1 x Island Indigo, 1 x Pool Party & a smaller one again in Island Indigo. The 2 largest were then run through the BS using the matching Framelits prior to layering on top of each other with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I cut out the middle of the small snowflake & adhered to the centre.

I punched a circle from Whisper White CS with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch, adhered to Base Card prior to adhering the snowflakes to the centre with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The greeting was stamped onto Whisper White CS in Pool Party Ink, punched with the Word Label Punch & adhere to a piece of Island Indigo which had been punched with the Modern Label Punch.  It was then adhered to the Base Card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

To finish the card, I placed a small Rhinestone Jewel in the centre, as well as either side of the sentiment.

SC 091/13...

For our challenges over at Sunny Challenges & Creations we have a simple sketch.  Sometimes, the simple challenges really challenge me & I have a hard time creating something.

I have not long received the cute little stamp set - Kind & Cozy & matching DSP - Gingham Garden, so I thought I would dig it out & ink it up before it become one of those sets that I love but never sees ink for a couple of months.

In keeping with the sketch, I kept my card very simple.  In fact, this card went off in the post during the week.

    SC 088/13...

I am a little late in posting my challenge sample for the current challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations.  Been having a little trouble with Blogger.

It was Kris' turn to give us our challenge & this week all we had to do was use that great new fantastic product - Washi Tape somewhere on our card!

I decided to try something different this week & created a set of 6 invitations using Washi Tape BUT also using MDS as well as normal ink & card.

I have actually cased this from the current Catalogue, Page 11.  I did change it a little to suit what I wanted.  It could easily be created using the actual Stamp Sets, which I have but decided to go with MDS for a change.

    Supplies -
Stamp Set - 134850 - MDS Cycle Celebration Stamp Brush Set
133019 - MDS Make a Wish Stamp Brush Set
    Ink - Pacific Point - 126951
    Cardstock - Pacific Point - 116202, Whisper White - 106549, Crushed Curry - 131288
Washi Tape - MDS 129017 - Washi Delightful Digital Tape
    Accessories - Snail Adhesive

    Invitation Set

     Invitation & Matching Envelope

Don't forget to head on over to Sunny Challenges to check out what the Design Team have created & how they used Washi Tape on their creations.

    SC 087/13...

Our challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations has been set by Gwen.  For this challenge all we have to do is create a card, scrapbook page or 3-D item using our fantastic
     Framelits!

I did a card very similar to this one some time ago for a one-on-one class.  I loved it so much, that decided to redo it, but had only ever half finished it.  So, while looking for supplies to create something for this challenge, I come across my half finished card & decided to finish it off.  Mind you, since I completed it, it went straight into the post, so I sort of have no measurements for you, but will give you a list & how I created it.

To create my card, I cut an oval out of the middle of a piece of Whisper White using an Oval from the Ovals Collection, stamped the sentiment in Early Expresso Ink onto the Base Card - Whisper White.

I then ran the Whisper White Piece which had the oval shape cut out through the Big Shot using the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder.  This piece was adhered to the Base Card with Snail Adhesive.

I cut the oval border with the same size oval I had cut the middle plus the size bigger by placing the 2 inside each other onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock & ran through the Big Shot.  This oval shape was then adhered to the outside of the Base Oval with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I stamped 3 flower shapes from the Secret Garden Stamp Set in Blushing Bride, So Saffron & Soft Sky Inks.  These were then cut using the matching Secret Garden Framelits & attached to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals & Snail Adhesive

The leaves were arranged on the card with Multipurpose Glue which had been cut from Pear Pizzazz Cardstock & the Little Leaves Sizzlits.  The little Butterfly was one I found in my So Saffron Cardstock & which had been cut from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits.

Lastly to finish the card, I adhered Pearls to the centre of each flower, the middle of the Butterfly plus 5 Pearls to the opposite side of the frame.

    Supplies -
Stamp Set - Secret Garden - 129144, Made for You (Retired)
    Ink - Blushing Bride - 131172, Soft Sky - 131181, So Saffron - 126957, Early Expresso - 126974
    Cardstock - Whisper White - 106549, Pear Pizzazz - 131290, Blushing Bride - 131287, So Saffron - 108611
    Embossing Folder - Fancy Fan - 127751
    Embosslits - Beautiful Wings - 118138
    Sizzlits - Little Leaves - 114511
    Framelits - Secret Garden - 129372, Ovals Collections - 129381
    Accessories - Pearls - 119247, Stampin' Dimensionals - 104430, Big Shot - 113439, Snail Adhesive - 104332

I hope you will join us for this great challenge.

    SC 085/13...

I am a little late in posting my card for our challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations was given to us by Kris.  We have the Sketch only!

Not only am I late in posting, but unfortunately I don't even have any measurements for you as I sold the card at the Handmade Expo last Sunday.  I didn't realise it had been sold until I just went looking for it.....  Always the way.

I will try & remember what I used on it from the photo & memory.  I originally found a lovely card created using this Origami Dress.  I then traced it back to the Website.  Me being me, I did alter the measurements to suit the card.  Laura is one talented stamper.  Click on the word "Laura" & it will take you direct to the video.

Lately I seem to be creating a lot of cards with Early Expresso & the Regal Colour Family.  Since Stampin' Up! revamped their colours, I am loving the Regals AND I am not a Regal Lover.

    Supplies -
    Stamp Set - Express Yourself
    Ink - Rose Red
Cardstock - Early Expresso, Whisper White, Rose Red
DSP - Designer Series Paper Stack - Regals

    SC 084/13...

This could be a very short post as I am having big issues with my mouse & pc.

It was Gwen's turn to set our challenge this week over at Sunny Challenges & Creations & once again she has been easy on us.

All we have to do is create a card for a Male!  It could be a scrapbook page, 3-d project or anything else you can think of.  Some of us have trouble creating male cards, so hopefully with the lovely ideas the Design Team have should help you on your way.

I started with a sketch from another challenge, but somehow got off track & only created using the sketch so far & then I sort of went off on my own, which means I won't be entering it in the other challenge.  Thank you Mary-Jo for your inspirational challenge!

I will be the first to admit I haven't used Chocolate Chip in a long time, so decide to use that for my Base Card.  I wanted the colours to be beachy without going traditional, so I teamed it with Tangerine Tango with a touch of Always Artichoke.  I'm really happy with the final result, although the picture does not do it justice.  For some unknown reason I had a hard time taking a photo of this card.  The photos all seemed to be blurry.....

    Supplies –
Stamp Set              By the Tide – 129120, Express Yourself - Hostess
    Ink                           Tangerine Tango - 126946, Chocolate Chip - 126979, Always Artichoke - 126972

    SC 083/13...

It was my turn to create the challenge this week over at Sunny Challenges & Creations & thought seeing as though it is now July - a Christmas Challenge would be in order.  Along with the sketch, we had to create a card, 3-D item or scrapbook page.

I don't know if you have noticed in the new catalogue that there are NO Christmas/Holiday Stamp Sets or Accessories, BUT there is the Carry Over List from the Autumn/Winter Catalogue.  In saying that, there is no reason as to why you could not use a retired Stamp Set to create your card or even a non-traditional stamp set!!!! You may surprise yourself with what you can come up with!

For those that know me, I tend to steer away from traditional Christmas Colours & like to go more with non-traditional colours, as in today's card - Very Vanilla, Soft Suede & Pink Pirouette.  I love these colours together & not just for Christmas.  Of course, how could I not create a card without using my favourite Embossing Folder - Perfect Polka Dots!

    Supplies -
Stamp Set Ornament Keepsakes - 128051, Petite Pairs - 122497
    Ink  Pink Pirouette - 126956
    Cardstock  Very Vanilla - 106550, Soft Suede - 119982
    Framelits  Holiday Ornaments - 127816
    Punches  Large Oval - 119855, Scallop Oval - 119856
Embossing Folder - Perfect Polka Dots - 117335
    Accessories  Big Shot - 113439, Snail Adhesives - 104332, Multipurpose Liquid Glue - 110755, Stampin' Dimensionals - 104430, Rhinestone Basic Jewels - 119246, Stampin' Write Marker - Neutrals - Soft Suede - 131261

Don't forget to pop on over to Sunny Challenges & Creations to check out what lovely cards the Design Team - Kris & Libby - have created.

We would really love for you to join us as we love seeing what everyone creates, but more importantly love leaving you all comments.

    SC 081/13...

Our challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations is to use something from the Seasonal Catalogue before it retires - 30 June - & create a card, scrapbook page or 3-D item.  The list is endless.

I had so much going around in my head about what to do, so instead of going to create something new, I decided to pull out my "Another Day" Box - that is what Gwen calls it!!!!!!  Don't you love that name?  I think it is a perfect name for that box that we all have sitting somewhere in our Craft Rooms.  Mine just happens to sit on my desk.  I often find myself going through it & finding "stuff" that I had completely forgotten I had started & didn't finish.  My card is one of those!!!!!!

When the Catalogue first come out I was just so excited to find a sea set sitting there waiting just for me to get my hands on.  Anything to do with the beach & I am "gone".  "By the Tide" was the first set I purchased.  In fact it was a purchase by itself & started playing as soon as it arrived, but then obviously didn't finish it.  All I had to do was basically add the Base Card & that was it!  How easy was that?  Everything had already been done.

We would love for you to join us this week.  All you have to do is head on over to Sunny Challenges & Creations, check out what Kris & Alison have created.  Create your card, scrapbook page or 3-D item, post to your blog or on line group/forum & then head back & link with Mr Linky.

    SC 080/13...

It was my turn to set the challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations this week.  I've been very easy in that there is no 2nd part to the challenge, only the sketch.

I wanted to do a simple little card as I seemed to have gone to all white cards of late.  Funny how we go through stages, but to be honest this is my style & the one I love creating.  I also need to stock up on my "Get Well" Cards as I sold a lot of them at the Handmade Expo last month.

I've also used one of my new stamp sets I purchased in the last month - Summer Silhouettes.  It has taken me a long time to obtain this set AND I love it.  The set makes for simple easy 5 minute cards while creating something with a bit of a "WOW".

    SC 078/13...

Our challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations has been set by Gwen.  She has been very kind to us this week as there is no sketch, but we are requested to create a Card, 3-D Project or even a Scrapbook Page with a "Sympathy Theme".

I actually completed my card for a couple of challenges ago, but when I went to post it, realised that I had the wrong challenge.  I have since used the card, so it is no longer in my possession.

I love the little rose which is in Stamp Set "Papaya Collage".  It seems to suit any occasion & I have used it a lot of late.  In fact this is one of the cards we created in our Stamping Classes this month.

I love the clean simple look of the card.

    SC 76/13...

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you & your families a very happy & safe Easter.

Our challenge this week at Sunny Challenges & Creations has been given to us by Kris.  She has set us a sketch as well as getting us to use our Background Stamps or use Stamps to create a Background.  It is the perfect timing to grab those background stamps gathering dust in the corne
r & to ink them up to create your project.  We do hope you will play along with us this week.

I, for one, had a bit of a hard time creating my card for this challenge.  I don't know why, maybe it was because I was reading too much into it as I just couldn't get my head around it.  I am sort of happy with the final result, as it has turned out very soft & pretty.  Perfect for a special person.  Again, I left a greeting/sentiment off the front, but there is nothing stopping you adding one.

    SC 075/13...

    Inside Card...
What a great challenge we have over at Sunny Challenges & Creations for you this fortnight.  Once again Gwen has been very easy on us whereby she has given us no sketch, but that we are to create a card, scrapbook page or 3-D item with the theme of "Get Well".

This is the type of card that we usually leave to the last moment to create, but one that we should all probably have in our box of goodies for that special person who may not be feeling on top of the world & knowing that you were thinking of them can pick them up no end.

After creating 2 cards, yep you read right - TWO - I went to post the challenge, only to discover that I had the wrong sentiment, so back to the drawing board for me.  I then completely went in another direction & created one for the male, which we don't see too often, but can be a difficult one to create.

Would you believe I don't own a "Get Well" stamp.  I just about pulled my shelves apart looking for one.  There is nothing worse than looking for something you think you have.  Anyhow, not to be outbeaten, I then grabbed a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, typed the sentiment in Early Expresso Ink & printed out.  So now you know what will be in my next order along with any other sentiment that I think I may need in the future.......

In fact, my card all started from a small piece of Always Artichoke Cardstock & went from there.  For the layout, I took the layout from Mary-Jo's current challenge.

I've just rememered that it fits my online group's challenge over at Latenight Stampers as well.  How good is that? Not starting out with much at all & I've completed 3 challenges with the same card.....

We would love for you to play along with our challenge this week.  To get you started, why not pop on over to Sunny Challenges & Creations, see what Gwen, Kris & our Guest Designers have created.  Create your card, etc, post to an online group or forum, then link back to Mr Linky.

Remember if we have over 10 entries, then we can give out 2 Ray of Sunshines.......

    SC 073/13...

Thank you to the number of entries we had in our last challenge.  I know we were all excited to see them.  I was astounded by the final number.  Thank you so much for your support.  Maybe the extra week has a big impact as to the entries, so we hope you are enjoying the extra time for creating.

Have you been enjoying your free stamp sets from this year's Sale-a-Bration that Stampin' Up! have going on at present?  Well, the challenge this fortnight over at Sunny Challenges & Creations is to use any products from SAB.  We also have a great little sketch for you to use too.  Can't wait to see what you all come up with.

I have finally managed to use "Summer Starfruit In Colour".  I will admit I am not a bg fan of this colour but I really like it with the Sycamore Street DSP from the SAB Catalogue.  It also goes really well with Rich Razzleberry & that being one of my favourite colours I can see myself using more of Summer Starfruit.

The wide selection of Sale-a-Bration products this year is fantastic.  I hope you are enjoying them as much as the rest of us.

Over the past couple of weeks, I seem to have lost (misplaced) my favourite scissors that I use to cut out with.  I do have another pair, exactly the same but for some reason I cannot get used to them, which means I am not entirely happy with my cutting.  I will have to search my office again & again until I find them as they were my very first pair of dedicated craft scissors.

We hope you will join us this week in this fun challenge.  For more inspiration, please head on over to Sunny Challenges & Creations & check out what the rest of the Design Team & Weekly Guest Designers have created.

    Inside Card...
Yes, Sunny Challenges is back & ready for another year.  We hope you will be able to join in & play along.  This year, we are trialling the challenges as fortnightly instead of the weekly.  We would love to hear what you think of the idea.

Our first challenge has been brought to us by Kris, who has been very easy on us as there is no sketch, products, etc to use.  Let your mind go wild, as it is a blank canvas.  All we have to do is create a card, 3-D project, scrapbook page, etc as long as it is celebrating "Birthdays".....
    Close Up...
I decided to use a stamp set that had been on my Wish List since I first saw it in the catalogue & was a "must have".  As usual other "stuff" got in the way.  Anyhow, I've had this set for sometime, but this is the first time it has seen ink.....

I am hoping that this year I will be able to enter a few more challenges, so with that in mind, I've also created this card for the challenge over at Clean & Simple
