Seaworthy...

I pulled out my Colour Coach today to find a colour combination that would be a little different & for colours that I would never think to use together.  I went with the "Getting Started" Combination, which has gone perfectly with today's card.

I've used the sketch from Clean and Simple which just cries for a clean & simple card!

I've also combined it with my groups weekly challenge for Late Night Stampers.  Challenge 108 - Let's Hear it for the Boys - Masculine Cards

Base Card - Old Olive - 5 7/8" x 4 1/8" or 15cm x 10.5cm - cut, score & fold in half
Layer 1 - Marina Mist - 5 7/8" x 2" or 15cm x 5cm
Layer 2 - Real Red - 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" or 10cm x 6cm
Layer 3 - Whisper White - 2 3/8" x 3 3/8" x 9.5cm x 5.5cm

For my card, I randomly stamped Marina Mist Cardstock using Marina Mist Ink.  I then adhered this down the LHS of Old Olive.  Using Marina Mist Ink, I stamped the image directly onto the Whisper White.  I stamped the greeting in Real Red Ink off to the right of Whisper White Cardstock.  I adhered this to Real Red Cardstock & tore the bottom of the Real Red Cardstock

Using Hemp Twine, I tied this around the middle of the Whisper White & adhered the whole lot to the base card.  I threaded a piece of Hemp Twine through a buttom & adhered to the card.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Seaworthy, Sincere Salutations
Inks - Real Red, Marina Mist
Cardstock - Whisper White, Old Olive, Real Red, Marina Mist
Ribbon - Hemp Twine
Accessories - Snail Adhesive, Multipurpose Glue, Button - Real Red

Until next time, Enjoy!

Manly Monday...

I've wanted to make a male card using "Totally Tool" with the background embossed to make it look like a board.  After checking out the sketch SSC149 this is what I have come up with.

My Card -
Supplies -
Stamp Set - Totally Tool, Best Yet
Ink - Basic Gray, Old Olive
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Basic Gray, Old Olive
Punches - 1 3/4" Circle, 1 1/4" Circle, 1/16" Handheld
Embossing Folder - SU Perfect Polka Dots
Accessories - Brads, Big Shot, Grosgrain Ribbon - Old Olive, Snail Adhesive, Sponge
Non-SU - Alfoil

To ensure the end result was a little stronger, I run 2 layers of Alfoil through the Embossing Folder.  This gave me a little more strength to work with.

I've stamped the screwdriver onto Very Vanilla Cardstock &
punched a hole through the top of screwdriver, attached a silver brad so that it looks like it is hanging from the wall.

I then sponged a little of Basic Gray & Old Olive around so that it seems like there is a little oil, etc on the board.

To carry the theme through, I punched a hole through the "o" in "You" for a silver brad

Until next time, Enjoy!

Male Card...

G'Day Stampers,

It has been a couple of days since my last post.

This is one of the cards we made Wednesday, using the great & effective Technique - Crayon Resist.  We also stamped off to create the faint shells in the background.

Although it was created for a male, it could easily be a female's card as well.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Seaside, Bitty Birthday
Ink - Creamy Carmel, Ballet Blue, StazOn
Cardstock - Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Ballet Blue, Glossy White
Punches - 1 3/8" Square, 1 1/4" Square
Accessories - Snail Adhesive, Grosgrain Ribbon - Chocolate Chip, Stamping Sponges, Crayons

Don't forget, if you would like to learn new techniques, please see the Classes at the top for times & dates.

Until next time, Enjoy!

Cards & Things - # 27...

I've been trying to clean up & come across some small scraps of cardstock.  Circle Circus just happen to be in my hand at the same time, so I quickly whipped up a couple of Thank You Cards which I used this morning......

While I had all the mess going, I decided to have a go at the Challenge over at http://www.krista-kris-challenges.blogspot.com and used the same stamp set and sort of the same idea.

Sketch -

Card -
Supplies -

Ink - Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White
Cardstock - Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point
DSP - Chocolate Chip
Punches - Scallop, 1 3/8" Round, 1 1/4" Round

I actually found my SU Brads & have taken the pokie bit off the brad & am left with just the Rhinestone.  I added the Kiwi Kiss to bring a 3rd colour into the scheme of things.

I'm Back...

G'Day Stampers,
Well, I am back & hopefully to post more frequently than I have been.  Once out of the routine, it takes a bit to get back again.
I've used a set from the current SU mini-catalogue & believe me, this stamp set has heaps of potential.  Check the mini at the right hand side to place an order!  Since seeing this set, I have had an image in my mind of doing this project, just required the occasion!
I am in the middle of making a matching card but wanted to post the box first.  I have made this for a birthday and want to fill the box with lots of goodies, ie lollies.  What kid doesn't like lollies?
Box -
Supplies -
Stamp Set - Wagon Full of Fun, Short & Sweet
Card Stock - So Saffron, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla
DSP - Sweet Slumber Speciality
Ink - Chocolate Chip
Accessories - Snail Adhesive, 2-Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds,
Aqua Painter, Watercolour Pencils
I've coloured the image using SU Watercolour Pencils & Aqua Painter
I applied 2-Way Glue & sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds onto the top of the cupcake, which immediately bought the image to life
Card will be posted later on in the day, so please come back again later on in the day!
Until then, have a great day!

'ello, 'ello...

Hello Fellow Stampers,

I sat myself down this morning to &amp & come up with a male card, but looking at it, you could use it for either male or female.  Combined with the great little stamp set "Hello Again" from Stampin' Up's current Mini-Catalogue & a FREE Stamp Set "Whimiscal Words"  from Stampin' Up's Sale-a-Bration catalogue, this makes for a great card!
I've really gone out of my comfort zone here, but check it out for yourselves -

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Hello Again, Whimiscal Words
SU Write Markers - Only Orange,Garden Green, Basic Black
Card Stock - Very Vanilla, Going Gray, Garden Green, Night of Navy
DSP - Kiwi Kiss Patterns
Accessories - Anywhere Glue, Crystal Effects
Non-SU - Buttons

To use the different colours for the flower, I've gone with Stampin' Up's Write Markers.  These are great for when you want to individually colour your image.
To bring the whole card together, I've opted for a coloured button.
Only because I couldn't find my Linen Thread, I've cut a very fine piece of Very Vanilla card stock & threaded it threw the button.
To adhere the button to the middle of the flower & to hold the thin strip of Very Vanilla card stock in place I've used SU's Crystal Effects.
For the greeting, I've used SU Black Marker to colour the word "Wish".  See the RHS to see how to earn your own FREE set!
If you have any queries on how to make this card or any supplies I've used, please email me as I am only to happy to answer them for you.
Enjoy!

A Couple of Days....

It's been a couple of days since my last post, but hopefully this card will make up for it.  Yet again another birthday!

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Seaside, Great Friend - "For You"
Ink - Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue
Cardstock - Whisper White, Bashful Blue
Punches - 1 3/8", 1 1/4"
Accessories - Adhesive Glue, Mat Pack, Chalks
Non-SU - Cuttlebug

I've used the cuttlebug to emboss the Whisper White so that it looks a little like small waves.

Using Chocolate Chip stamp pad, I then chalked the shell using shades of different blue.  Pefore adhereing to the Chocolate Chip, I then pieced 3 corners using my Paper Piecer & Matt Pack.  Great little Tool!

Enjoy

Sleepy Saturday...

Surprse, Surprise, Surprise!,

Thought I would be early & post project for today, but I didn't really realise it was soooooooo early - no wonder my eyes won't open, might have to return for an hour or 2.  I must be hyped up for the garden!

I've decided to posted a male card - about time - and have completely changed my mind on what I was going to post.  I've taken this layout from an old old layout from years ago I did.  It is not using Stampin' Up! products, as I did it prioir to starting SU, but my intentions are to redo it in their colours, so keep your eye open!

Have a great day!

Vicky
