Outback...

I'm finally back.......  It has been a couple of weeks since my last post.

I've created this card for my groups challenge - Patriotric Theme.  Without doing the colours of the flag or the Southern Cross, I decided to go with Black, Yellow & Red.  I only hope my trees look a little like the gums out home!  See what you think?

Base Card - Daffodil Delight - 5 7/8" x 4 1/8" or 15cm x 10cm
Layer 1 - Real Red - 5 3/4" x 4" or 14.5cm x 9.5cm
Layer 2 - Basic Black - 5" x 3 1/8" or 13cm x 9.5cm
Layer 3 - Whisper White - 4 7/8" x 3" or 12.5cm x 9cm

I stamped the tree image directly onto the Whisper White Card using Versamark Ink.  I then heat embossed the image using Black Embossing Powder

I punched the moon from a scrap of Whisper White Card & adhered it to the Whisper White Card.  Using my SU Sponges & Basic Black Ink, I sponged the bottom half, ensuring that the horizon wasn't in a straight line.

I sponged the next layer using Daffodil Yellow, followed by Real Red Inks.  Once sponging was completed, I carefully removed the moon & rubbed a little White Shimmer Paint on the moon to make it look like there was a "man on the moon."

I adhered the Real Red Card to the Base Card - Daffodil Yellow.  I then adhered the image piece of card to Basic Black Card & adhered it to the Base Card.  I coloured the Rhinestones using Basic Black Ink & applied a little Crystal Effects on top.

For my sentiment, I stamped it in Basic Black onto Whisper White Card, punched it out using my Oval Punch & then punched a piece of Daffodil Yellow with the Scallop Oval Punch and adhered to the base card.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Lovely as a Tree, Short & Sweet
Ink - Basic Black, Real Red, Daffodil Yellow, Versamark
Cardstock - Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red, Daffodil Yellow
Punches - 1 1/4" Circle, Large Oval, Scallop Oval
Accessories - Multipurpose Glue, Rhinestones, SU Sponge, Heat Tool, Crystal Effects

Until next time, Enjoy!

FTL 136...

Today's card is for the challenge over at Clean & Simple Stamping  On seeing this sketch, "DSP - Sweet & Sour Speciality" jumped into my hands.

Base Card - Rose Red - 5 7/8" x 4 1/8" or 15cm x 10cm - Fold & Score
Layer 1 - Very Vanilla - 5 3/4" x 4" or 14.5cm x 9.5cm
Layer 2 - DSP - 3" x 3 7/8" or 7.5cm x 9cm
Layer 3 - DSP - 1 1/2" x 3 7/8" or 7.5cm x 9cm

I adhered my 2 pieces of DSP onto Very Vanilla Cardstock & adhered this to the Rose Red Base Card

For my ribbon, I decided to use a piece of DSP, but fold it for a little bit of a different look.  I cut a strip of DSP & scored along the piece.  I then proceeded to fold the DSP so that the folds would run down the card similiar to a ladder.  I adhered this to the card.

After cutting Very Vanilla Cardstock with my Bigshot & Sizzlit Dies, I sponged the edges with Pumpkin Pie Ink & a Dauber.  I stamped the sentiment in Basic Black Ink.  I cut my butterfly with the Bigshot & Embosslit Dies & sponged using my Dauber & Pumpkin Pie.  I adhered this to the sentiment & using SU Dimensionals, adhered it to the card.  I adhered Basic Pearls to the middle of the Butterfly.

All in all a great sketch!

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Short n Sweet
Ink - Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Rose Red
Embosslit Dies - Beautiful Wings, Lots of Tags
DSP - Sweet & Sour Speciality
Accessories - Multipurpose Glue, SU Dauber, Basic Pearls

Until next time, Enjoy!

Masking Tutorial...

I've finally managed to write the Tutorial for Masking.

  1. Stamp image onto card stock
  2. Stamp the same image onto a scrap piece of paper & cut out, careful to cut just inside the lines - this will be your mask
  3. Place the mask on top of your image on your card
  4. Stamp a different image over a portion of the mask - this creates layered images
  5. Remove mask
  6. Embellish card
Tip -

If you do not have a Post-It Note to stamp your image onto, use snail glue to create a temporary adhesive to the back of mask and then stick this to a towel once or twice.  It will remove the sticky adhesive, but at the same time, leave enough adheseive so that you are able to place your mask on your card.

I sometimes store this mask in with the stamp set so that it is ready to be used again

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or not sure of anything

Until next time, Enjoy!

SSC 199...

I know, 2 days in a row, wonders will never cease!

Today's card is taken from the sketch challenge over at Stamping 411  They always have a great sketch, not to mention the measurements!

Layer 1: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4" - Very Vanilla

Layer 2: 4 x 5-1/4" - Wild Wasabi
Layer 3: 2-3/4 x 3-1/4" - Rose Red
Layer 4: 2-5/8 x 3-1/8" - Watercolour Paper

I stamped random images from "Growing Green" onto Wild Wasabi Cardstock, using Wild Wasabi Ink

I stamped the same image onto Water Colour Paper in Chocolate Chip Ink & using my Aqua Painter, coloured the image with Wild Wasabi Ink.  The flower image was stamped onto a scrap of Water Colour Paper again using Chocolate Chip Ink, coloured it with Rose Red Ink & my Aqua Painter.  I cut around the flower & adhered it to the Water Colour Paper using SU Dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment in Chocolate Chip Ink.

I adhered this to a piece of Rose Red Cardstock, tied my ribbon across the top & adhered the whole section to my base card which is Very Vanilla Cardstock.

Stamp Set - Great Friend, Growing Green
Ink - Rose Red, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Wild Wasabi, Rose Red, Watercolour Paper

Easter...

With Easter being just around the corner, I thought it would be a great way to make a couple of cards for some special people.  They will know who they are when they receive them!

Base Card - Perfect Plum, So Saffron, Bashful Blue - 5 7/8" x 4 1/8" or 15cm x 10.5cm - cut, score & fold in half
Layer 1 - Pretty in Pink - 5 3/4" x 4" or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 - Whisper White - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8" or 14cm x 9.5cm

I layered Pretty in Pink Cardstock onto each of Perfect Plum, So Saffron & Bashful Blue.  I haven't used any of these colours in so long, that it was great to get back to the Soft Colours.

I stamped the bunny using my Versamark & Chocolate Chip Inks, poured Clear Embossing Powder over the top & heat set it with my Heat Tool.  I repeated this step for the other 2 cards.  I then used the Masking Technique for my bunny, inked my image in Certainly Celery & stamped it over the bunny & Whisper White Cardstock.  Repeat twice for the other 2 cards.

Inking my flower image with Pretty in Pink Ink, I stamped it randomly among the reeds.  I repeated the same step again for the 2nd card.  For my third card, I used a butterly image & Bashful Blue Ink

For my sentiment, stamped onto Whisper White Cardstock & heat embossed the ink using Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink & Perfect Plum Inks.  I then punched them out using the Large Oval Punch.  After punching a piece of Perfect Plum, So Saffron & Bashful Blue Cardstock using the Scallop Oval Punch, I adhered this to the sentiment & then to the cards.  I adhered the Whisper White Cardstock to the base cards.

I coloured the Rhinestones using my Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink & More Mustard Markers.  I applied a little Crystal Effects over the top of each so that the colour would set, adhered some around the necks of the bunnys & to the centres of the flowers & butterfly images.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Chocolate Bunny, Well Scripted, Priceless, So Happy For You
Inks - Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Versamark
Cardstock - Perfect Plum, Whisper White, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink
Punches - Large Oval, Scallop Oval
Accessories - Multipurpose Glue, Clear Embossing Powder, SU Markers, Basic Rhinestones, Crystal Effects

Check back tomorrow & I will have a tutorial on the Masking Technique

Until then, Enjoy!

Spinner...

This is the card we made at the Community Centre on Friday arvo.  Again, the ladies all made their individual card to suit the occasion they wanted.  They all turned out lovely!

Base Card - Basic Grey - 5 5/8" x 4 1/4" or 15cm x 10.5cm
Layer 1 - Melon Mambo - 5 1/2" x 4" or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 - Whisper White - 5 3/8" x 3 7/8" or 14cm x 9.5cm

Using Old Olive Ink and my image, I stamped the reeds randomly onto Whisper White Cardstock, ensuring the image overlapped the top.  Grabbing the small flower and Melon Mambo Ink, I stamped the image randomly among the reeds.

I measured about 1/2" or 1.5cm down from the top of Whisper White Card & the same in from both sides.  I ruled a line in pencil from point to point.

I punched the point using my Small Circle Punch.  I then punched along the ruled line using the Word Window Punch.

Using a Stampin' Dimensional, I adhered one to the top of a 5c coin, ensuring that this was under the punched cutting.  I adhered the second 5c coin on top of the Stampin' Dimensional so that the two 5c coins were sitting exactly on top of each other, ensuring that they could slide side to side with no obstructions.

Using Multipurpose Glue, I adhered Melon Mambo Cardstock to the Base Card, and Whisper White to Melon Mambo Cardstock using Stampin' Dimensionals.  This allows for the coins to slide side to side.

I stamped the sentiment onto Whisper White Cardstock using Melon Mambo and punched out using the Large Oval Punch.  I then used the Scallop Oval Punch to punch out a piece of Basic Grey Cardstock.  I adhered the Whisper White to the Basic Grey & this was adhered to the card.

I stamped the Butterfly onto Whisper White Cardstock using Melon Mambo, cut the image out & using a Stampin' Dimensional, adhered it to the top of the 5c coin.

Crikey, I hope this makes sense.  If not, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Inspired By Nature, Priceless, Short & Sweet, All a Flutter
Ink - Old Olive, Melon Mambo
Cardstock - Basic Grey, Whisper White, Melon Mambo
Punches - Large Oval, Scallop Oval, 1/2" Circle, Word Window

Amber...

I am a little late in posng this card which was for my niece's birthday last Wednesday.  I have kept it very easy with no layers.

I seem to be making a lot of no layer cards lately.

Base Card - Whisper White - 5 7/8" x 4 1/4" or 15cm x 10.5cm

I stamped the leaf image using Pear Pizzazz Ink randomly over the bottom part of the card.  Using Melon Mambo Ink and small flower image, I stamped off once, then stamped randomly onto the Whisper White Card Stock.  I repeated again, using Perfect Plum Ink.

Taking my Perfect Plum Marker, I drew a line around the top edge of the card, leaving a space to fit 3 Rhinestones.  I stamped the sentiment using Melon Mambo Ink.

I then adhered small Rhinestones to the centres of the flowers.

Again, a very basic card which took all of 5 minutes.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Priceless, Well Scripted, Embrace Life
Ink - Melon Mambo, Perfect Plum, Pear Pizzazz
Cardstock - Whisper White
Accessories - Rhinestones, Perfect Plum Marker
Non-SU - Purple Rhinestones

Dani...

This week sees my neices 24th birthday!  So young!

Dannielle loves red & green, so I thought I would add just a touch of red & leave the remainder of the card black.  I did know that I just wanted to create a CAS card - Clean & Simple, my favourite!  What better way to do this type of card than to use "Pocket Silhouettes" - great stamp set!

Base Card - Whisper White - 5 7/8" x  4 1/4" or 15cm x 10.5cm

I stamped the images from Pocket Silhouettes using Basic Black Ink.  Using my Real Red Ink, I randomly stamped images over the Basic Black.

I then grabbed my Black Marker & drew a line around the edge of the card, leaving a space so that I could adhere 3 Rhinestones.  I stamped the sentiment in Basic Black Ink.

I coloured the Rhinestones with my Real Red Marker & adhered them to my card.  I applied a little Crystal Effects over the top of each so that the colour would set.

A very basic card which took all of 5 minutes - once I knew what I wanted to do.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Pocket Silhouettes, Well Scripted
Ink - Basic Black, Real Red
Cardstock - Whisper White
Accessories - Basic Black Marker, Real Red Marker, Tombow Glue, Rhinestones

Check back tomorrow arvo when I will post the card I am making for Amber.

Until then, Enjoy!

So Hoppy 4 U...

I created this card for the class we had at the Community Centre yesterday.  All our cards turned out different, but using the same technique & colours.  It also qualifies for the Latenight Stampers challenge.

Base Card - Pacific Point - 5 1/8" x 7" or 13cm x 17.5cm - score at 4 1/4" or 10.5cm
Layer 1 - DSP - 7" x 1 3/4" or 13cm x 4 1/2 cm
Layer 2 - Whisper White - 5" x 2 5/8" or 13cm x 6.5cm
Layer 3 - Real Red - 3 1/2" x 2 3/8" or 9cm x 6.5cm
Layer 4 - Whisper White - 3 3/8" x 2 1/4" or 8.5cm x 6cm

I adhered the DSP to the RHS of the base card.  I then punched out several stars onto Whisper White Cardstock using the small Star Punch & large Star Punch.  Using a sponge & Pear Pizzazz Ink, I sponged the stars lightly.  I randomly adhered these to the Whisper White Cardstock before taking my Square Lattice Embossing Floder & running it through the Bigshot.  This is called "Inlaid Embossing".  This piece was then adhered to the top of the Base Card.

Taking my Chocolate Chip Ink, I stamped the log onto the small piece of Whisper White Card Stock.  I used the same colour to stamp the flies randomly onto the same card.  I stamped the frog using Pear Pizzazz Ink & the greeting using Real Red Ink.

The Whisper White Cardstock was the adhered to Real Red Cardstock & adhered to the Base Card.  I stamped the fly image onto a couple of small stars & adhered these to the card.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Hoppy for You
Ink - Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizzazz, Real Red
Cardstock - Whisper White, Pacific Point, Real Red
DSP - Celebrations
Punches - Small Star, Large Star
Embossing Folder - Square Lattice
