Amber...

I hope you are not getting tired of my scrapbook pages, but I am really enjoying getting back into it again.  It certainly helps when you have been supplied with beautiful photos to work with.

This photo was taken by my niece, Dannielle.  It is of her twin sister "Amber".  It is such a beautiful photo which captures her to a "T", that I had to put it to paper!

I don't usually copy layouts, but liked this one so much that I did copy the majority of it, but then started doing my own thing to finish it off.  I've taken the layout from the current Catalogue 2011-2012, Page 102.  That is the great thing about Stampin' Up! Catalogues.  Not only are they full of products, but brilliant ideas as well!  Stuck for ideas, head straight for any of the catalogues.

I cut the piece of DSP prior to layering it onto Marina Mist Textured Cardstock.  The larger piece of DSP was then adhered over the top.

I punched a piece of Soft Suede Cardstock using my Bigshot & the Circles #2 Die.  I punched a piece of Marina Mist Cardstock using my 2 3/8" Scallop Circle & adhered the 2 together prior to adhering onto the DSP.  I didn't mat my photo this time & it is taking some time for me to get use to, as I always do this.  It gives a different look anyhow.

I grabbed 3 different size flowers - could be Stampin' Up! but am not sure, adhered together prior to adhering to the top of the Scallop Circle.  The photo was then adhered to the page.  I found a couple of coloured Rhinestones laying around in a bottom drawer & stuck one to the middle of the top flower.  These things pop up everywhere!  I have even found a couple attached to the dog from time to time!

A piece of Marina Mist Cardstock was punched along one side with the Scallop Edge Border Punch, adhered to the edge of the photo before a piece of Soft Suede Cardstock was adhered over th etop.

I punched a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock using my Modern Label Punch, wrote Amber's name & year with the Basic Black SU Marker & adhered to the piece of Soft Suede Cardstock.  I applied 2 of the Rhinestones to either side of the label.

I then adhered a piece of Crocheted Trim across the bottom of the photo, tied a bow, attached a Rhinestone Brad to the centre & adhered using a Mini Glue Dot.

Tip - Don't be afraid to adhere "stuff" to your photos.  You will be pleasantly surprised of the result!

Xmas Scrapbook Page...

I wasn't going to scrap the photos I took on Christmas Day this year, but looking at them, I suddenly realised I had a photo of 4 generations......  It doesn't happen very often, although Jill has 6 great grand kids......  the oldest being 16! She is often babysitting 3 of them, 2 of whom are twins, so they keep her on her toes.

Mind you, she will not & has never given up her social life to babysit.  She has always said to her grandkids, she would only look after them if she has nothing on.  Well, in Jill's social calendar that is not very often.  I can't wait to retire!!!!!!!!!!!

The photo was layered onto a piece of Riding Hood Cardstock, leaving 1/8" border prior to adhering to the Whisper White Textured Cardstock.  For some reason I always like to use Textured Cardstock as my main page .

I incorporated the flower that I wore in my hair on Christmas Day - made from a couple of flowers I had lying around, added Rhinestones to the middle & bamo, you have an ornament for your hair!  I then hot-glued a clip on the back.  The clip was removed as I adhered a couple of Stampin' Dimensionals to the back.  I also sponged a bit of Riding Hood Red Ink to the flower to make it pop a little.
I stamped the tree with Garden Green Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock before adhering to a layer of Basic Black Cardstock & then to the page.

For the Scallop Circles, I used one of the images from Circle Circus - have been wanting to use this set for something Christmas for so long - with Garden Green Ink, while the wording is in Tempting Turquoise Ink....  They were both punched using the Scallop Circle Punch.

The journalling was typed & printed onto Whisper White Cardstock, before laying onto a piece of Basic Black Cardstock & then to the page.

I used a couple of pieces of  Basic Black Ribbon to look like the journalling & embellishments were hanging from the top.

I basically wanted to keep the page simple & clean - my style of scrapbooking, while just picking up the suttle colours in the photo - Riding Hood Red, Tempting Turquoise, Garden Green, Black & White.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Circle Circus, Perfect Punches, Lovely as a Tree
Ink - Tempting Turquoise, Riding Hood Red, Garden Green
Cardstock - Whisper White Textured, Basic Black, Riding Hood Red
Ribbon - 3/8" Taffeta - Basic Black
Punches - Scallop Circle
Accesories - Rhinestones, Stampin' Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive, Sponge

Until next time, when I will show you the 2nd page!

Sc 021/11...

Merry Christmas Eveyone!!!!!  Have a great day with your family & friends!

This week's challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations is one which I am sure will appeal to everyone.  Anything BUT Christmas.  Yep, you have a free reign!  Be sure to check out what Gwen & Kris have created.

For my sample, I decided to create a Free Standing Double Photo Frame  as a small Chrissie Pressie for my Aunt.

With having Christmas at my cousins, I thought it be a great idea to create this so that she could put a couple of photos of her great-granddaughter in it.  Ally is only 2 years of age & it is her grandparents we are having lunch with.

This idea has been forming in my mind for a couple of weeks now, & to see it come to life is something else.  I am really happy with the final result.  Mind you, so many ideas have popped into my head about what I will do for my next one.

Once I had assembled the inside of the frame, I then decided to make the front into a card - Jill won't be expecting the inside!  She will only think it is just another card!

For the card front, I wanted to make it all "girly girly" while not being too bright!  I think I have pulled it off!

Mind you, it is still sitting on the kitchen cupboard waiting to be wrapped.  I also created a matching envelope & matching Tissue Paper to wrap the envelope - sorry no photos as I did that last night after I had taken all the photos.

Supplies -
Stamp Set -  Under the Big Top
Ink - Early Expresso
Cardstock - Early Expresso, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Window Sheet

Accessories - Rhinestones, Crystal Brad, Sticky Strip, Snail Adhesive, Multipurpose Glue, SU Sponge Dauber, 2-Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Stampin' Dimensionals, Blender Pen, Big Shot

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas...

I would very much like to take this opportunity to wish my loyal follwers, visitors, customers & readers from all over the globe a very Merry Christmas & a Happy & Safe 2012!

Scrapbooking....

Yes, I've been scrapbooking yet again.....  This is the page I had in mind when I created the card a couple of days ago using the same DSP.  This is of my aunt & uncle, who are brother & sister.

I selected my colours from the Azaleas in the background.  When I scrapbook, I tend to go with the colours that are not so predominant.  I think it makes for a better page, although everyone is different & scraps differently.

I used the Textured Melon Mambo Cardstock for my base & layered a piece of DSP over the top.  For my photo, I made a border from a piece of Pink Pirouette Cardstock, which was adhered to a piece of Melon Mambo Cardstock.  The whole lot was adhered to the DSP.

I cut a piece of Certainily Celery Satin Ribbon & adhered to the top of the DSP, added a piece of  Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon over the top, punched 3 flowers with the Boho Blosso Punch, 2 in Pink Pirouette & 1 in Melon Mambo.  I adhered these to the top of the Whisper White Ribbon & added a Basic Pearl to the centre of each.

I handwrote my journalling onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock using the Stampin' Write Journaler, adhered to a piece of Melon Mambo Cardstock, then to a piece of Certainily Celerly Cardstock &  to the layout at an angle.

I cut a doiley from the DSP Pack, adhered to the journalling, punched a flower using the Boho Blossom Punch, adhered a Basic Pearl in the centre & lastly adhered to the page.

I've just realised, No Stampin'!!!!!  A very easy page, but one I am quiet happy with!

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Nil
Ink - Nil
Cardstock - Melon Mambo - Textured, Whisper White, Pink Piriouette
DSP - Flirtatious Speciality
Ribbon - 5/8" Satin - Certainily Celery, 1/4" grosgrain - Whisper White
Punches - Boho Blossom
Accessories - Basic Pearls, Stampin' Write Journaler, Snail Adhesive

Until next time, Enjoy!

TRRSS6...

I'm trying to slowly get back into my scrapbooking, BUT I will be the first to admit it is taking a bit to try & think along these lines.  To ease back into it slowly, I am only doing basic pages, although they sometimes turn out to be the best pages.

This page is for the challenge over at Holly's blog - "Rubber Redneck STAMpede".  I have been wanting to do one of her challenges for quiet sometime now, but just never seem to find the time.  I decided that I would have a break from doing my niece's weding invitations & attempt the challenge.  After looking at the sketch for a couple of hours, I thought I would do a scrapbook page instead of a card.

This page is of my little Maltese - "Belle".  She is not 12 months yet, but has such a lovely little nature & personality.  Loves life, chewing on all my scrap paper, even sneaking bits from the bin in my office & hiding it all under my bed, cuddles, walks & play!  Not necessarily in that order!

Not wanting to use any doggie theme for the page, I tried to pick up the brown in her face & ears.  To add a little bit of embellishments, while sticking to the sketch, I thought the Embosslits Die - Beautiful Wings would suit the page.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Nil
Ink - Nil
Cardstock - Textured - Blushing Bride, Early Expresso,
Whisper White, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi
DSP - Just Add Cake
Punches - Eyelet Edge, Decorative Label
Ribbon - 1/4" Grosgrain - Early Expresso
Embosslits Die - Beautiful Wings
Accessories - Multipurpose Glue, Snail Adhesive,
SU Marker - Early Expresso, Basic Rhinestones

Until next time, Enjoy!

Thank You Box...

This box was created as part of the current Sunny Challenges & Creations - SC020/11 challenge.  The challenge is to share something Chrissy - 3-D, Gifts, Cards, Scrapbooking or in fact, anything you like with a Christmas Theme.

I also created it for my cousin who took me to the ballet last week to see "Swan Lake".  Absolutely fantastic.  Those dancers are so very talented, fit & brilliant!

The best part is that one of the dancers was approached by the director to perform for the Qld Ballet Company.  His mum is over the moon!!!!!  His older brother & younger sister are both dancers as well.

After creating my box, I decorated it with the DSP - Letters to Santa, added a sentiment & tied a ribbon around the top to keep it closed.  I filled the box with yummy yummy chocolates....

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Short & Sweet
Ink - Chocolate Chip
Cardstock - Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Whisper White
DSP - Letters to Santa
Punches - Oval, Large Oval, Eyelet Border
Ribbon - 5/8" Grosgrain - Chocolate Chip - Retired
Accessories - Sticky Strip, Snail Adhesive

Until next time, Enjoy!

Best Wishes...

Inside Card.

I dug out this DSP to create a scrapbook page but instead made a card first up.  I had no idea what I was going to do, but sort of went along with my hands.....

Measurements -
Base Card - Melon Mambo - 8 1/4" x 4 1/8" or 21cm x 10.5cm - Scroed & folded in half
Layer 1 - DSP - 5 5/8" x 2 1/4" or 14cm x 5.5cm
Layer 2 - Pumpkin Pie - 5 5/8 x 1" or 14cm x 2.5cm
Layer 3 - Melon Mambo - 3" x 2 1/2" or 7.5cm x 6.5cm
Layer 4 - Whisper White - 2 7/8" x 2 3/8" or 7cm x 6cm

I punched the piece of Pumpkin Pie Cardstock along one of the longer sides with the Eyelet Edge Border Punch & adhered it to a long side of the DSP.  This piece was then adhered to the Base Card using Snail Adhesive.

I cut a doilley from the DSP & adhered it to the centre of the piece of Whisper White Cardstock.  This was then adhered to the piece of Melon Mambo & then to the Base Card.

I stamped my sentiment onto Whisper White Cardstock, using Wisteria Wonder Ink, punch with the Oval Punch,  punched a piece of Melbon Mambo Cardstock with the Large Oval Punch & a piece in Wisteria Wonder Cardstock with the Scallop Oval Punch.  I layered all 3 pieces on of each other & adhered to the Base Card using Snail Adhesive.

A Basic Pearl was adhered to the centre of the doilley.

SC 020...

This week Kris set the challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations & it is all about "Christmas".

With everyone's busy schedule this time of year, you have 2 weeks to complete this challenge.

The challenge is to share something Chrissy - 3-D, Gifts, Cards, Scrapbooking or in fact, anything you like with a Christmas Theme.

So come on everyone, grab that stampin' stuff & start stampin', creating or even baking!!!!!

My sample has been around in blog land for a long time now, but I wanted to create something for blokes that I didn't have to spend much time on & easy to fill once I had created it.  Not to mention, easy for them to get into too.

This bag is full of Chocolates ready for Christmas Day - Fingers crossed they will last that long with me around as I am my own worse enemy with chocolate around.

Once I created my box for the bottom, I cut my DSP & wrapped it around the bottom of the box.

I cut a strip of Old Olive Cardstock, punched one long side using the Scallop Edge Punch, added a bit of Faux Stitching with my Gel Pen & again wrapped it around the bottom of the box.

I punched 2 pieces of Old Olive Cardstock using the Round Tab Punch, applied Faux Stitching around the edges, punched a hole in each tab using my Crop-a-Dile & adhered one each side to the top of the bag.

After I filled it with Chocolates, I tied 3 pieces of ribbon though the top.

The greeting was stamped direct onto Whisper White Cardstock using Old Olive Ink & adhered to the centre of the bag.

A really easy & quick project.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Perfect Punches
Ink - Old Olive
Cardstock - Old Olive, Whisper White
DSP - Letters to Santa
Punches - Sallop Ede, Round Tab
Ribbons - 1/8" Taffeta - Old Olive, 1/4" Grosgrain - Whisper White, Chocolate Chip
Accessories - Sticky Strip, Multipurpose Glue, White Gel Pen, Croop-a-Dile

Don't forget to pop over to Sunny Challenges & Creations & check out what Kris & Gwen have created & have a go at creating something with a Christmas Theme yourself

Until next time, Enjoy!

Scrapbooking...

After completing my page for the current challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations me being me, I had to complete a matching page. There is still time to play along.

Again, I've taken Dannielle & Chris as the focus & all I've done is flip the page 90 deg & added a bit of a heading.

It is merely the same as the posting here.

For my heading, I printed onto Whisper White Cardstock, punched with the Decorative Label Punch & then again in Night of Navy.  This piece I cut in half lengthways & adhered to the top & bottom prior to adhering to page.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Elements of Style
Ink - Night of Navy
Cardstock - Soft Suede - Textured, Night of Navy, Whisper White
DSP - Beau Chateau
Punches - Decorative Label
Ribbon - 1/2" Seam Binding - Baja Breeze, 3/8" Raffeta - Night of Navy
Accessories - Flowers, Rhinestones, Snail Adhesive, SU Dimensionals

Until next time, Enjoy!

Easy 5m Card...

I have had to create 60 Christmas Cards for the Volunteers at the Community Centre.

To make it easy for me & not expensive for the Centre, I decided to see what I can come up with using the minimum supplies.

This is the first of my 6/7 designs.

I stamped the images direct onto Whisper White Cardstock using Rich Razzleberry Ink & then drew the lines with my Rich Razzleberry Marker.

I scored 3 lines down the LHS using a ruler & my Bone Folder.

I stamped the Sentiment onto the card with Old Olive Ink.

That is it - 5 minutes tops!!!

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Tree Trimmings, Short & Sweet
Ink - Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Accessories - Bone Folder, SU Markers - Rich Razzleberry

Until next time, Enjoy!

SC 019/11...

This week for the new challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations I decided to go another way.  Mind you, this wasn't until I had all my stuff to create my card sitting on the desk.  After desicovering that the DSP - Beau Chhateau goes with the Stamp Set Elements of Style & wanting to use both, I then did a complete switch & scrapped a page for my album.

The page is from Dannille's mum's wedding recently held in October where both her & Amber were bridesmaids.  The photos are so beautiful that it just seemed a shame not to do something with them.  This one is of Dannielle & her fiancé, Chris.

Once I had decided to go with the colours Chris was wearing, I again grabbed the DSP - Beau Chateau & the matching stamp set Elements of Style to complete my page.

I cut 1" off 2 sides of the DSP so that it measured 11" x 11" square & adhered it to Soft Suede Cardstock.

Rhinestones & Stamped Image...

After printing the photo, I left a small white margin right around the photo.  Usually I like to have a matching cardstock border but this way I can bring the white of Dannii's dress into the layout without having to use Whisper White Cardstock

Prior to adhering the Night of Navy Cardstock to the DSP, I adhered a piece of Seam Binding Ribbon across the centre & then  a piece of Taffeta Ribbon over the top.

I layered 3 different size Flowers together, placed a Brad in the centre of each & adhered them to the LHS of the photo with SU Dimensionals.

Rhinestones & Flowers...

To finish the page, I adhered Rhinestones to the top & bottom LHS of the page.  The Rhinestones go well with Dannielle's jewellery.

I am really happy with this page, as it is not too fussy or over the top, just like the beautiful dress she is wearing, while catching the colours in Chris' clothes.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Elements of Style
Ink - Night of Navy
Cardstock - Soft Suede - Textured, Night of Navy
Ribbon - Seam Binding - Baja Breeze, Taffeta - Night of Navy
Accessories - Snail Adhesive, Rhinestones, Flowers Brads - Night of Navy

Don't forget to head over to Sunny Challenges & Creations & check out what both Kris & Gwen have created.  Better still, sit down during the week & create something yourself using the sketch provided, but with no Sentiment or Greeting.  You could be the next Ray of Sunshine.

Until next time, Enjoy!
