ANZAC Day....

To all those who attended the Dawn Services this morning, hope you enjoyed!

I know I do & always look forward to it - grabs my heart strings everytime, especially the last post ringing out over the ocean.

If they were signing up recruits at the services, I think - know - I would be there to sign up again!

Anyhow, off to have lunch at the local RSL with the vets for a couple of hours, listen to all the old war stories, which I love hearing & of course the evil/fun, but must play "Two UP"  or "Crown & Anchors" as we called it.

".........  We will remember them!"

Gift Card Holder...

I've sat myself down tonight & come up with a matching Gift Card Holder to go with the card in previous post.

I've often seen these holders around the blog world, but have never attempted to make one.  After much trial and many errors, no instructions, I think I may have nailed it!

Inside -
Supplies -
Stamp - 5th Avenue, Oval All
Ink - Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo*
Cardstock - Whisper White, Melon Mambo*
Embossing Folders - Perfect Polka Dots*
Punches - Large Oval, Scallop Oval, 1 1/4" Circle, Word Window

Until next time, Enjoy!

Mother's Day...

Using the Mother's Day Challenge over at Late Night Stampers, I've combined SSC # 148 from Stamping 411 - http://stamping411.blogspot.com - to come up with a card suitable for Mother's Day.

Of course, how can you go past Stampin' Up!s® "5th Avenue" stamp set for mother's day, but then that is me!

My Card -
 Supplies -
Stamp Set - 5th Avenue
Ink - Melon Mambo* Pink Pirouette
Cardstock - Whisper White, Melon Mambo
Embossing Folders - Perfect Polka Dots*
Accessories - Snail Adhesive, Grosgrain Ribbon - Pretty in Pink
 *  Autumn-Winter Mini-Catalogue 2010

I've kept the cut out flower from "5th Avenue" very plain, as I didn't want to take the whole effect away from the background.

For the greeting, I typed "For You" on the pc, printed & then attached using a very thin piece of Whisper White cardstock.

TIP - Cardstock cut into very narrow strips make for a great thread.  Colour co-ordinate and use it for your buttons, labels, etc

Until next time, Enjoy!

Crayon Resist...

After a couple of requests on how to do this Technique, please find below a short tutorial.  This is a very basic tutorial, as I find this is easiest to understand both for myself and class.

Supplies -
  • Cardstock - White Glossy
  • Ink - StazOn
  • Stamp Set - Seaside
  • SU Woder Crayons
  • Sponge/Brayer
  • Tissues
 Instructions -
  1.  Stamp image/s onto glossy cardstock using Basic Black or Staz-On Stamp Pad
  2. Allow to dry
  3. Using a white or light coloured Wax Crayon, colour in or highlight any areas you wish to remain white
  4. Sponge or brayer ink over the stamped images, using multiple or single colours
  5. Once dry, buff off using a tissue
  6. Embellish card

Male Card...

G'Day Stampers,

It has been a couple of days since my last post.

This is one of the cards we made Wednesday, using the great & effective Technique - Crayon Resist.  We also stamped off to create the faint shells in the background.

Although it was created for a male, it could easily be a female's card as well.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Seaside, Bitty Birthday
Ink - Creamy Carmel, Ballet Blue, StazOn
Cardstock - Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Ballet Blue, Glossy White
Punches - 1 3/8" Square, 1 1/4" Square
Accessories - Snail Adhesive, Grosgrain Ribbon - Chocolate Chip, Stamping Sponges, Crayons

Don't forget, if you would like to learn new techniques, please see the Classes at the top for times & dates.

Until next time, Enjoy!

Colour Renovation...

After extensive research including investigating colour trends in the fashion, home décor, and crafting industries, Stampin’ Up! is bringing a new world of colour to their Colour Renovation, beginning with the release of the new catalogue in September. This release will have a fresh, on-trend colour palette to work with!

The new colour palette is organized into 4 collections - Subtles, Brights, Regals, and Neutrals. We will have 25 of our current colours remaining and see past “IN” Colours returning as core colours. In addition, we will have 5 new core colours.

New “IN” Colour Programme
One part of the Colour Renovation means that we're going to love is the new “IN” Colour programme! Each year 5 new “IN” Colours will be introduced and remain for 2 years! This means the 2010-2011 “IN” Colours will be introduced in September but won’t retire until 2012-2013 colours are introduced.
This year will only include 5 “IN” Colours, but after that, there will always be 10 “IN” Colours.
Updates will be posted, once more information is provided. Please contact me if you have any more questions.

SSSC64 - Congratulations.....

G'day Stampers,

It has been a couple of days since my last post, but had some great news last Saturday night & as a result this is the card I come up with using the sketch SSSC64 from "The Sweetest Thing" - http://www.kgiron.blogspot.com

Knowing that red was a must and what goes with red, but black & white!  Then not being able to decide between the sets "Embrace Life" or "Eastern Blooms" -  the flower from "Eastern Blooms" winning out in the end, as I just love how the Heat Embossing Technique works on this flower.

I've changed the layout of the flowers a little.

Card -
Supplies -
Stamp Set - Eastern Blooms, Wonderful Words
Ink - Basic Black, Versa-Mark
Cardstock - Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White
Accessories - Snail Adhesive, Pretties Kit, 2-Way Glue,
3/4" Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon*, Embossing Buddy,
Powder Tray, Embossing Powder - White, Heat Tool

* Summer Mini-Catalogue 2010

Congratulations Dannielle & Chis!

Enjoy!

Cards & Things - # 27...

I've been trying to clean up & come across some small scraps of cardstock.  Circle Circus just happen to be in my hand at the same time, so I quickly whipped up a couple of Thank You Cards which I used this morning......

While I had all the mess going, I decided to have a go at the Challenge over at http://www.krista-kris-challenges.blogspot.com and used the same stamp set and sort of the same idea.

Sketch -

Card -
Supplies -
Stamp Set - Circle Circus, Bitty Birthday
Ink - Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White
Cardstock - Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point
DSP - Chocolate Chip

I actually found my SU Brads & have taken the pokie bit off the brad & am left with just the Rhinestone.  I added the Kiwi Kiss to bring a 3rd colour into the scheme of things.

Enjoy!

Baby Kate...

Shells.............

G'Day Stampers,

An early start this morning.....

After coming home from the beach yesterday arvo & finding this great, but oh so easy sketch  - http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com - decided to add the 2 together & here is my interpretation of the sketch.

The DSP I've used looks a little like starfish, so decided to go match it in with the stamp set.

Card -
Supplies -
Stamp Set - Seaside, Bitty Birthday
Ink - Chocolate Chip, Not Quite Navy
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Not Quiet Navy,
Chocolate Chip
DSP - Bella Bleu
Accessories - Anywhere Glue Stick, Mini Glue Dots

I've stamped the greeting from "Bitty Birthday" straight along the strip of Very Vanilla.  It isn't a straight line, but I wanted it like that, as it sort of reminds me of the waves coming in.

Until next time, Enjoy!
