Haiti...

Haitian Disaster Relief

On 12 January, 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti, leaving in its wake devastation so overwhelming that the Haitian people and their leaders can only look for help from the outside to cope. In the past, when terrorists attacked the Twin Towers, when a tsunami struck Indonesia, when a hurricane destroyed New Orleans, and when wildfires ravaged Australia, Stampin' Up! demonstrators stepped forward and showed their commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
This time is no different.

From now until 28 February, 2010, you can partner with Stampin' Up! to make a difference in the lives of those who continue to suffer from the effects of this devastating earthquake.

Stampin' Up! will set aside $2 from the sale of every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set and donate that money to the American Red Cross' Haiti Relief and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.

I {Heart} Hearts   -  117715   -  $42.95 AUD/$49.95 NZD

Talk to ME to order your I {Heart} Hearts stamp set.

Scrap Cardstock...

Hello Fellow Stampers,
I thought I would post a little ditty in ref to our bits & pieces of left over cardstock.
I've decided to do a little project with my left over "stuff", but more of that later.
Sample 1

Sample 2

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Eastern Blooms, Great Friend
Ink - Not Quite Navy
Card Stock - Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, Really Rust, Very Vanilla
Accessories - Anywhere Glue Stick, Heat Tool, Stampin Emboss Powder - White

How easy is this!  Doesn't matter what size the little cards are, they always come up great!  In fact, the more varied the sizes, the better I like them!
No Very Vanilla Cardstock has been hurt in this project, only the coloured Cardstock - Earth Elements - and they were from my scraps.
I then used the Embossing Technique for the front.  Doesn't require anything else.
Find this Technique Here
I like to make a fresh batch - sounds like cooking.  Opps, I forgot, I don't cook - of small gift cards every 2/3 weeks which I give to my customers along with their orders.  I try to cater for their tastes in colours, etc as not everyone likes the same thing!
Not only that, I am totally out of my comfort zone by using the "Earth Elements" but I love the way they have come out!
One more thing, Stampin' Emboss Powder would have to be the greatest powder I have ever used!  It is so fine & always comes out so lovely!  I love watching the heat changing the texture!
Tip - As long as I am able to punch the smallest circle from cardstock/DSP, I NEVER toss any of it out.
Make sure you check back in a couple of days to view my little/big project!
Until tmw, have a great night
Vicky

New Box...

Good Morning Stampers,
I have finally finished my box - well, one of them - that I have been playing with for so long.  It is nothing special, but took me awhile to chop and change things & to work out the template.  It is very similar to the one posted for the January Stamp Club - Here
Box

I want to fill it with a heap of little gift cards & C6 Cards, but have only finished 6 gift cards so far.  The remainder will be completed in a couple of weeks in between projects & invitations.
Cards #1

Cards #2

I've even surprised myself & made matching envelopes to suit the small gift cards.
Envelopes

This is a Birthday Pressie for a special person who LOVES purple, so if she reads this blog, she will probably guess.  I just have to make something for her sister now!
Have a great day & happy stampin!

Challenge - # 54

Check It Out!
I am in the middle of doing a challenge.  It is a couple of weeks since doing one, so thought I would have a go at this one, but whether or not I finish, is another thing!
Inspiration Challenge!!!
You can find inspiration in all different places.  The challenge this week is taken from this lovely yummy designer cake.  Can you see polka dots, stripes, ribbon, flowers, diamonds and initials in spring colours of pale yellow, pink, rose & white...  What do you see?
Don't forget - Must be 100% Stampin' Up! Products!

Wouldn't you just like to hoe into this!
Why not have a go yourself & email me a pic of your creation.  I love looking at other people's work!
Until tmw, when I can finally post my box I have been working on for yonks & yonks.
Vicky

Short n Sweet...

I've come across a card which I did for Valentine's Day some time ago, but I am sure that it has never been posted.
This Stamp Set is  very versatile & able to be used for such a variety of occasions.
As I always keep a sketch or photo of cards, projects, etc, I've been able to reuse an old layout for this card.  Always handy for when you are stuck for ideas...

Supplies Used -
Stamp Set - Priceless, Wonderful Words - Retired
Ink - Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip
Card Stock - Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Punches - 1 3/4" Circle, Scallop Circle
Accessories - Snail Adhesive
Non-SU - Ribbon

Crikey, I've managed to use another retired stamp set - Warm Words.  Again, it has missed being marked as "Retired", but have now been amended & filed in the Retired Dump!  Think I will be going through my stamp sets tmw/today & checking if there are any more to be marked "Retired".
Until tmw, have a great night & happy stampin'

Thought I would post another before I sign off.  This is one of my favourite sets & I find myself going to use it all the time.
I've had a bet with myself that I won't be able to use all my stamp sets in 12 months, so fingers crossed, you should see a lot of different sets & hopefully, outside my comfort zone.

A Couple of Days....

It's been a couple of days since my last post, but hopefully this card will make up for it.  Yet again another birthday!

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Seaside, Great Friend - "For You"
Ink - Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue
Cardstock - Whisper White, Bashful Blue
Punches - 1 3/8", 1 1/4"
Accessories - Adhesive Glue, Mat Pack, Chalks
Non-SU - Cuttlebug

I've used the cuttlebug to emboss the Whisper White so that it looks a little like small waves.

Using Chocolate Chip stamp pad, I then chalked the shell using shades of different blue.  Pefore adhereing to the Chocolate Chip, I then pieced 3 corners using my Paper Piecer & Matt Pack.  Great little Tool!

Enjoy

Quick Card...

I've just made a very quick 5 minute card - this is for one of my brothers.  From now until April I have a heap of family birthdays and even when I have a heap of cards I always like to make a fresh one for them.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Seeing Spots, Circle of Friendship - Retired
Ink - Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip
Cardstock - Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip
Punches - 1 3/4" Circle, 1 1/4" Circle
Buttons - Designer Series
Accessories - Mini Dots, Snail Glue

I have just realised that I've used a Retired Stamp Set, which means that I have forgotten to put my little sticky white circle on the box & marked it in big red letter "R".  It is my way of knowing at a glance that it is retired.
Until Tmw, have a great arvo
