Inspired by Nature...

The layout for these pages have been inspired both by the photos & of course the Stamp Set - Inspired by Nature.  I think this set is perfect for these photos without taking away from the photos.  I love to scrap my photos, while at the same time not have the photo/s become lost on the page.

Page 1 -
I matted my photo onto Crumb Cake & then onto Garden Green Cardstock.  I inked my image with Crumb Cake Ink & radomly stamped around Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I tried to bring the weeds from the photo onto the page.

Wanting to add a little bit of green & the colour of the T-Shirt Amber is wearing, I decided to ink the flower image using Garden Green, So Saffron & Pacific PointSU Markers & stamp over the top of the reeds.  I repeated this step twice.  I then applied Crystal Effects to the flowers so that the colours would pop out more.

Once the Crystal Effects had dried, I adhered my photo to the page.

Using my Basic Black SU Marker, I wrote onto a scrap piece of Vanilla Vanilla, punched out using my Oval Punch & adhered to a piece of Pacific Point Cardstock, which had been punched with my Scallop Oval Punch

I punched a hole either side of the oval with my Handheld Punch & thread a piece of Linen Thread through either side.  I think this blends in well with the whole scrub theme.

Page 2 -
This page was really very easy & took all of about 5 minutes.

I matted my photo onto Crumb Cake & then to Marina Mist Cardstock.

I stamped my reeds onto Very Vanilla Cardstock with Crumb Cake Ink.  I again inked my flower image with Pacific Point, Garden Green & So Saffron SU Markers & stamped them onto the page.  I applied Crystal Effects to the flowers & set aside to dry.

I adhered my photo the centre of the page & with my SU Basic Black Marker, wrote a little bit of "What's Happening"

Stamp Set - Inspired by Nature
Ink - Crumb Cake
Cardstock - Pacific Point, Very Vanilla,
Garden Green, Crumb Cake

2nd Calender...

I am a day late in posting my 2nd calender, but better later than never.  This one is a little different from the one posted 2 days ago.

I randomly stamped images over the pages of the calender using Riding Hood Red & Baja Breeze Inks.  Ensuring all pages were squareed away nice & evenly, using my Handheld Punch, I punched 3 holes into the top of the calender about 1.5cm from each end & 1 cm down from the top.  I applied 3 White Brads through the holes & adhered to the piece of A4 Whisper White Cardstock which had been adhered to a piece of Cardboard from the DSP Papers with Sticky Strip.

I created the background for the top of my calender by stamped random images onto Whisper White Cardstock using Riding Hood Red & Baja Breeze Inks.

The stamp set is a 2-step stamp set, but for the background, I only used the outline stamp.  I wanted the background to be sort of clean looking.

Deciding that I wanted my 3-D flowers to filled in, I used both the outline & the filler stamps to create my flowers to be adhered over the background.

I stamped 3 large flowers onto Whisper White Cardstock using Baja Breeze Ink, cut them out & adhered over the stamped images using SU Dimensionals.

I stamped a number of smaller flowers onto Whisper White Cardstock using Riding Hood Ink, cut around the images & again adhered randomly to the stamped images using SU Dimensionals.

Using the Boho Blossoms Punch, I punched 3 flowers with Baja Breeze Cardstock, adhered to the centre of the larger flowers with Crystal Effects & adhered Basic Pearls to all the centres of the 3-D flowers.

This piece was adhered to a piece of Riding Hood Red with Sticky Strip & finally to the top of the calender.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Flower Fancy
Ink - Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red
Cardstock - Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Cardboard from DSP Papers
Punches - Boho Blossom, Handheld Punch
Accessories - Crystal Effects, Sticky Strip, Basic Pearls, SU Dimensionals

Sc 018/11...

A new challenge begins today over at Sunny Challenges & Creations so be sure to head over there & check it out.  Along with the sketch, Kris included the stamp set - Upsy Daisy.

I suddenly realised it has been some time since this set last touched ink, so it is a great challenge to dust it off & re-ink.  I will be the first to admit, this is not one of the first sets I go for, but may have to re-look at this in the future.

Getting my card craeted this week was a challenge in itself.  After creating a card & about to email it off to Kris for posting, suddenly realised I had used the wrong stamp set!  Can you believe it?????  Then after completing my 2nd card, I dropped a ink pad fair smack bang in the middle of the card, so back to the drawing board again.  Serves me right for not closing my ink pads once I finish using them!!!!!  That is in amongst loosing the Embossing Folder I was going to use, plus having to cut my butterflies a number of times.

Measurements -
Base Card - Chocolate Chip - 5 7/8" x 4 1/8" or 15cm x 10.5cm - once scored & folded in half
Layer 1 - So Saffron - 5 3/4" x " or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 - Chocolate Chip - 3 1/2" x 3" or 9cm x 7.5cm
Layer 3 - So Saffron - 3 3/8" x 2 7/8" or 8.5cm x 7cm
Layer 4 - Whisper White - 3 1/4" x 2 3/4" or 8cm x 6.5cm

Inside...
I stamped my image direct onto Whisper White Cardstock using So Saffron Ink, then again with Chocolate Chip Ink, after first stamping off.  With my Bone Folder, I scored the piece diagonally across the card, turned 90 degrees & scored again.

I inked the Whisper White Cardstock with Versamark, poured Clear Embossing Powder over the top, tapped excess off & heat set with my Heat Tool.  This piece was adhered to So Saffron Cardstock & then to Chocolate Chip Cardstock using Snail Adhesive.

Using my Bone Folder & Ruler, the larger piece of So Saffron Cardstock was again scored diagonally, tuned 90 degress & scored again.  I adhered the embossed piece to the So Saffron piece, ensuring I had the opposite side of the scored card showing.

I adhered a piece of ribbon across the bottom, stamped my sentiment in Chocolate Chip Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock, punched it with my Large Oval Punch & adhered to a piece of Chocolate Chip Cardstock which had been punched with my Scallop Oval Punch.  I adhered this to the centre with a SU Dimensional.  The whole lot was adhered to the Base Card - Chocolate Chip with Snail Adhesive.

I cut my butterflies with my Bigshot, adhered 2 smaller ones together & then onto the card.  I adhered a small Rhinestone to the centre of the butterfly.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Upsy Daisy
Ink - Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Versamark
Cardstock - Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Whisper White
Punches - Scallop Oval, Large Oval
Embosslits Dies - Beautiful Wings
Ribbon - 1/2" Scallop Dots - Chocolate Chip
Accessories - SU Dimensionals, Rhinestones, Snail Adhesive, Bigshot,
Bone Folder, Embossing Powder - Clear, Heat Tool

Now it is your turn, head over to Sunny Challenges & Creations & see what Kris & Gwen have created.  We would love for you to join us this week.

Until next time, Enjoy!

2012...

We created calenders last Friday for next year.  These calendars are magnetic, so they are able to be hung on your fridge or if you wanted, punch a couple of holes in the top, add some ribbon & hang on your wall.  So many possibilies.

I created the calender on the computer, but wanted an A5 size so that I could easily use it to record everyday living - appointments, birthdays, workshops, etc.  I think it has worked out well.  Another thing you could do, is stamp all your birthdays in one stamp & colour, appointments in another, public holidays another & so on......

I have already given this calender to a cousin of mine, which will suit her kitchen perfectly!

I will post the second one I did tomorrow & will probably give it away too, which means I will have to create another for myself.

I randomly stamped images onto the calender pages using Marina Mist & Soft Suede Inks.  I also stamped off on some of the images to give it a little of a different look.

Ensuring I had all pages squared away neatly, using my Handheld Punch, I punched 3 holes along the top of the calender, about 1.5cm in from both sides & 1 cm down from the top.  I added 3 Rhinestone Brads through the holes.

I adhered a piece of Soft Suede Cardstock to a piece of cardboard from a pack of DSP Papers, which had been cut back to A4 size, using Sticky Strip.  This will give you a little more strength for your calender.  I then adhered the pages to the bottom of the board, only applying adhesive to the top part of the calender.  This way, come next year, all you have to do is tear off the last page, print out a new calender & adhere to the same board.

I embossed 2 pieces each of Very Vanilla & Marina Mist Cardstocks using my Bigshot & the Embossing Folder - Finial Press.  I was going to add pockets to the calender using these embossed pieces, but thought better of it as they would have either got stuck in the pockets or stay there permanently, so I created false pockets.

I matched the pattern of the 2 embossed pieces, added a thin piece of Marina Mist Cardstock, along with a gathered piece of Crochet Trim Ribbon to the Very Vanilla pieces & adhered them to a piece of Marina Mist Cardstock.

I then repeated the same step except with the piece of Marina Mist Cardstock & adhered it to a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock.

Both pieces were then adhered to the top of the board using Sticky Strip.

I stamped 8 flowers onto Very Vanilla Cardstock, 4 using Marina Mist Ink, & 4 using Soft Suede Ink.  I cut around the images, adhered them to the embossed cardstock with SU Dimensionals & adhered Basic Pearls to the centre of the flowers.

If you wanted, you could easily add a photo to the piece of embossed Very Vanilla, as there is heaps of room to do so.  Better still, add a photo to the top of your calender & decorate.  As I stated previously, the possibilities for this type of calender is endless!

Stamp Set - Vintage Vogue
Ink - Soft Suede, Marina Mist
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Marina Mist, Soft Suede, Cardstock from DSP Papers
Embossing Folder - Finial Press
Ribbon - Crochet Trim - Victoria
Accessories - Basic Pearls, SU Dimensionals, Sticky Strip, Rhinestone Brads - Light Blue, Bigshot

Until tomorrow when I post the 2nd calender, Enjoy!

For Dad...

For a bit of a change, thought I would post the card & box I created for my Dad's birthday.  He loves Scorched Peanuts, so instead of just giving them in a bottle, I decided to go with a box & put them in celleophane.....

I cased the card from Christine Blain sometime ago, but was waiting for the right occasion to use it!  Christine does some lovely work!

I created my box from scratch, but there are heaps of different types of boxes in blog land.  I just got a bit lazy & didn't look.  I was happy with the final result as was Dad, especially the Scorched Peanuts!!!!!  He couldn't wait to get into them.

Again I am showcasing another Christmas Card we created at the Community Centre last week.

It has been such a long time since I've used these colours, that I thought this the perfect opportunity to dig them out & put them to use.  Mind you, I had to really dig deep.  With all the new colours SU have, it is very hard to forget about the ol' faithful colours.  Why????  Who knows, but they are such beautiful soft colours!

Gwen set the challenge this week & along with the sketch, a "Nursery Theme" was added!  Now, we all need baby cards sometime during the year, so what better way to begin the new year with adding this type of cards to your stash.  Don't forget to head on over to  Gwen & Kris's blogs to check out what they have created.

Base Card - Whisper White - 11 1/4" x 4 1/4" or 29cm x 10.5cm

Baroque Motifs....

... turns into a Christmas Card.

The past couple of days, I have been madly creating 6 different cards for a group of lovely women from the Community Centre.  The class was one of their weekly get togethers.  Very tiring, but the reward in the end always wins in the end.  I used the sane stamp set for 5 of them & another for 2 of them.  Most of the cards are all non-traditional colours.

Over the next few days, I will post the cards we created, so I hope you enjoy them as much as I did creating them.

My Favourite....

Inside...

Stamp Set & one of my favourite colour combinations have been combined to create this card which we made last week for at the Community Centre.  The ladies loved the colours!

Measurements -
Base Card - Rich Razzleberry - 8 1/4" x 5 7/8" or 21cm x 15cm - Scored & folded in half
Layer 1 - Old Olive - 5 3/4" x 4" or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 - Rich Razzleberry - 3 7/8" x 2 5/8" or 9.5cm x 6.5cm
Layer 3 - Very Vanilla - 3 3/4" x 2 1/2" or 9cm x 6cm

I stamped my image onto the piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock using Old Olive Ink.  I then proceeded to score lines across the piece of cardstock at 1/2" intervals.

I then decided to try something a little different & experiment a bit, so I covered the whole piece with Versamark & poured Clear Embossing Powder over the top.

Close-Up...
After tapping the excess off, I then heat set it with my Heat Tool.  To add a little bit more WOW, I then applied Dazzling Diamonds with my 2-Way Glue.  This piece was then adhered to the small piece of Rich Razzleberry.

I adhered a piece of Satin Ribbon just below the centre of Old Olive Cardstock & adhered to the base card - Rich Razzleberry.  I adhered the imaged to the top with SU Dimensionals.

Not wanting to stamp a greeting & deciding it needed a little more something, I tied a bow & adhered to the top of the card.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Lovely as a Tree
Ink - Versamark, Old Olive
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry
Ribbon - 5/8" Satin - Rich Razzleberry

Embossing Powder - Clear, 2-Way Glue, Dazzling Diamonds

Until next time, Enjoy!

Scrap Booking....

I am trying very hard to get back into my scrapbooking.  It has been so long, but having my photos all over the place does not help.  So with a bit of luck, I will be able to sort them out while scrapping my photos.

First up are 2 lovely photos of my nieces which were taken early on in the year.  These are such lovely photos, that it was the perfect opportunity to begin with Amber & Dannielle.  Belive it or not, but they are identical twins, hence the title of the pages.  People who have known them all their lives are still unable to tell them apart.  I have to guess which one they are talking about by the stories they relay to me.

Besides doing the 12 x 12 pages, I like to create albums using A4 pages.  Sometimes, I find them a little more easier to handle & seem to fit more in an album than the standard 12 x 12 album.  Fingers crossed SU! will bring out an album to fit A4 pages.

I didn't want to do the usual beach theme, so I decided to go with the colours in their dresses.  I printed the title onto a piece of Textured Whisper White using the colours in their dresses & adhered to the page with Chystal Effects.  I did pour Crystal Effects over each letter to make it stand out a little.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Vintage Vogue, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink - Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Basic Black
Cardstock - Textured - Whisper White, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise
DSP - Island Oasis (Retired)
Ribbon - 5/8" Organza - White, Hemp Twine
Punches - Tiny Tags, Scallop Edge
Accessories - Crystal Effects, Snail Adhesive, SU Dimensionals

Until next time, Enjoy!

Pink & White....

I created this card sometime ago for the class I have at the Caloundra Community Centee on a Friday.  The ladies like to create their own Christmas Cards, so towards the end of the year, I try to bring in colours that could be used for Christmas or any occasion.

I have put this card in such a safe spot that I cannot find it, so please bear with me while I try & think of the measurements.  Fingers crossed they are not wrong!

Measurements -
Base Card - Melon Mambo - 11 5/8" x 4 1/4" or 29.5cm x 10.5cm - Scored at 2 7/8" & 5 3/4" or 7.3cm & 14.6cm
Layer 1 - Front - Whisper White - 2 3/4" x 4" or 7cm x 10.cm
Laye 2 - Back - Whisper White - 5 3/4" x 4" or 14.5cm x 10cm

I punched an oval in the middle of the smaller piece of Whisper White using my Large Oval Punch, prior to running it through the Bigshot using Embossing Folder - Perfect Polka Dots.

I stamped my greeting onto a scrap of Whisper White with Melon Mambo Ink & punched using my Extra Large Oval Punch.  This was adhered behind the embossed Whisper White & a Pretty in Pink frame created to adhered over the top. I created the frame by punching first with my Oval Punch & then my Scallop Oval Punch.

I adhered a piece of Ribbon across the bottom of the Whisper White, tucked the edges behind & adhered to the front of the card with Multipurpose Glue.

I stamped my images onto the piece of Whisper White Cardstock using Melon Mambo & Pretty in PInk Inks and ahered to the Melon Mambo Cardstock.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Short & Sweet, Tree Trimmings
Ink - Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo
Cardstock - Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Punches - Scallop Oval, Extra Large Oval, Large Oval
Embossing Folder - Perfect Polka Dots
Ribbon - 1/4: Grosgrain - Pretty in Pink
Accessories - Multipurpose Glue, Snail Adhesive

Until next time, Enjoy!

SC 016/11...

A new week brings a new challenge.  This week it was my turn & with Christmas just around the corner, what better challenge than to have a "Christmas Theme".  Along with the sketch, a Christmas card was created.  I am still not up to the number I want for my cards, so there will be another created later on in the week.

Measurements -
Base Card - Chocolate Chip - 8 1/4" x 5 7/8" or 21cm x 15cm
Layer 1 - Very Vanilla - 5 3/4" x 4" or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 - Cherry Cobbler - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8" or 14cm x 9.5cm
Layer 3 - Chocolate Chip - 2" x 4" or 5cm x 10cm
Layer 4 - Very Vanilla - 1 7/8" x 3 7/8" or 4.5cm x 9.5cm

I embossed the piece of Cherry Cobbler using my Bigshot & Embossing Folder - Perfect Polka Dots & adhered it to the piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock.

I stamped my image onto Very Vanilla Cardstock using StazOn Ink & coloured with my Aqua Painter, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler & Chocolate Chip SU Markers.  I did intend using my Blender Pen to colour the image, but didn't realise I had used my Aqua Painter until I had finished & saw the Blender Pen sitting very neatly & patiently on my desk.  Oh well, next time.  I left the little bird in his natural state on purpose, as I think he looks better this way.

I run a piece of Ribbon along the bottom half of the piece of Cherry Cobbler, adhered the coloured image to the top with SU Dimensionals & adhered the whole lot to the base card - Chocolate Chip.

I again used my StazOn Ink to stamp the greeting onto Very Vanilla, coloured again using the same supplies as for my image, punched using the Curly Label Punch & adhered to the bottom of the image.

A really great sketch to create very fast, yet lovely Christmas Cards.

Supplies -
Stamp Set - Beatiful Season
Ink - StazOn
Cardstock - Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler
Embossing Folder - Perfect Polka Dots
Punches - Curly Label
Ribbon - 1/2" Scallop Dots - Chocolate Chip
Accessories - SU Dimensionals, Multipurpose Glue, Snail Adhesive, Aqua Painter, SU Markers

While here, pop on over to see what both Gwen & Kris have created using the same sketch & theme!  We would love to see all your lovely creations, create your card, scrapbook page or project, pop on over to Sunny Challenges & Creations & link it back using Mr Linky.

Until next time, Enjoy!
